According to a scooper for the site, Warner Bros are forging ahead with a remake of "The Exorcist" (1973), with young Dakota Fanning possibly taking over where Linda Blair left off.

Why,,I'll tell ya,,The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Did they need that remake? No. Was it good? Yes. Better than the original? Different time, different place, different feel......Hollywood isnt going to stop with the remakes. With some of these classics I'm hoping they put in the effort. I'll keep an open mind.

Whats so great about it? Everything about it was generic and done to death, there was nothing special about that movie. It wasnt scary at all either, granted the original isnt scary either ( back at the time it probably was though )

Considering the fact that the prequel was a complete flop both critically and financially I don't see how anyone could think the public would welcome this right now.

And I also heard that the first Exorcist prequel, which was shelved in favor of Harlin's version, will be released this year. It's overkill.

Meh... I don't know. I didn't particularily enjoy the original all that much. I thought it was really overrated. And, don't compare this to the prequel. Apples and oranges, really. I won't judge this quickly. I'm a fan of past horror remakes (Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Dawn of the Dead, The Grudge), so we'll see how this goes, IF it goes. I'm not as skeptical as some are. I think this could happen very easily.

I thought the remake of TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE sucked, but I loved the DOTD remake, and THE GRUDGE was okay. Just my opinions, of course.
