Re: Who will be the next James Bond?
Yeah Amazon wants to do dirty things to this franchise and she's single handily saving it.

The poll has been updated
Vote Matt Smith - I think it would be a fun take and would make him a British icon.

Henry Cavill.
Until he's 50 years old, the answer is Henry Cavill.
He can still do ONE BOND MOVIE at 49 years old.
Give us that at least!

Re: Who will be the next James Bond?
I agree that as long as they're not like 52 year old Idris Elba they should just pick the right guy, people like Cavill and Hiddleston in early 40s is acceptable, it's ok if the next Bond makes less movies than Craig.

Re: Who will be the next James Bond?
I guess Bond becoming a TV character makes sense considering the lack of popularity of action movies these days while Amazon shows like Reacher are pretty big, but it's still sad to see end of an era of patience and selectiveness of Broccolis, you know they will do dirty things to this brand now.

Re: Who will be the next James Bond?
Jeff Bezos is crowdsourcing social media to help decide the next Bond.
Let's get a movie on Q, on M, Moneypenny, Jaws, Goldfinger origin, Blofeld spinoff, Honey Rider (where did the honey name arise from), Oddjob son's story!
This is going to be pretty terrible for the brand unfortunately. Will get to SW level probably within a decade.

This will kill off Bond once and for all. 60 odd years - it was a good run while it lasted.

Re: Who will be the next James Bond?
Random prediction, Amazon will pay Christopher Nolan to helm 007 after Odyssey and pay him $100M+. Seems like they need a pretty well known director on this who has a pre-build fanbase. Feel like that could be one possible way for them to shift the narrative quickly and get people excited about it.

This will be a bad thing in the long run ... but I also have always wondered if the Craigverse had enough going on to continue without him...

The last three movies made over $3 billion combined theatrically. Reacher isn't even close to touching that. The main series isn't going anywhere except theaters anytime soon. They'll spin it off though. Or maybe they're paying attention to what's happening over at Disney...

Re: Who will be the next James Bond?
They can use brands like Bond and LOTR to make people notice Amazon prime in foreign countries and then the bonus beyond streaming subscription is they also get into using it to shop. But I guess a series of Bond movies can also do that.

The real danger is diluting the brand with too many weak TV spinoffs like Disney did with Marvel and Star Wars.
