Anyone ever watched the Faces of Death series
I always see them for rent at the Mom N Pop stores but I could never stomache the thought of seeing people actually die on home video footage. Something just morbid and wrong about it, Im also superstitous in a way that the spirits from the video footage will haunt me. This is coming from a gore fan. I heard lots of brutality from the videos such as a mans stomach entrails getting ripped apart by a bear when he was trying to feed it, a guy's eyes popping out when he received the electric chair, or some guy's head splatting all over the concrete walk when he jumped off a 13 story building. How brutal are the videos and what are your thoughts on such videos?Should minors even be allowed to rent them

It's been years since I watched them. The two scenes I remember the most were Asians cutting up some very cute puppies for dinner, and the floor collapsing during an orchestra's performance.
From what I understand, there's a mix of real footage, reenactments, and entirely fake scenarios.

Most of it is staged. I think the only real footage is the slaughterhouse stuff (which is readily available everywhere) and the clip of the politician shooting himself (a pretty famous event that has been shown on TV and such).

Didnt know that at all. At least its relieving to know that most of it isnt real especially the clips I heard about the execution style killings and beheadings
You familiar with the Guinea Pig films, Makeshift. It was the same films that Charlie Sheen thought was real that he called a cops to investigate them. I went to the site not too long ago and got grossed it by it
Just for all you goes warning

Oh, yes. I'm familiar with them. They're quite well known in the horror scene. I've seen all of them (I think there's like five). I believe they were created mainly to show off a couple of guy's amazing makeup skills. The "best" in the series is Flowers Of Flesh And Blood. I appreciate it for it's stunning techincal aspects, but it's pretty much exactly what you'd think - a guy cutting up a girl for forty minutes. It's pretty boring. Another decent one is The Devil's Experiment. It's pretty much the same thing, but this time three guys torture and murder a woman instead of one. These two films are really just misogynistic borefest's, but if you are a young makeup artist and/or really appreciate gore effects, you might get some level of enjoyment out of them.
