A word to the wise:

!!!WARNING::::Jane Eyre:::::WARNING!!!

There is a movie adaptation of the classic Charlotte Brontë novel Jane Eyre being released this March.

It is strongly advised that anyone who hasn't read the book, avoid seeing this film at all costs.

It is essential that when you encounter Jane Eyre for the first time, that it be in the written form. It is one of mankind's truly great novels. Don't spoil it for yourself by seeing the film first.

For those that have read Jane Eyre, the choice to see the movie is more open. I believe I will watch it, though I can't say I'm not concerned that the director will fukunaga it up.

So remember:

Read the novel FIRST!!!!!

Just bought two copies of the novel (one for me, one for wife, $11 total with shipping). It better not let me down or I'm coming to you for reimbursement.

What kind of a freaky reading style do you share with your wife Eagle? Simultaneous reading of some sort? Do you make a competition out of it? What's the prize? Choosing the next book? Choosing the bed side? Making love with lights on/off? The loser gets to change the bed sheets?????

Haha, the only book we've ever read together was Harry Potter 7. I really do enjoy reading a good book in tandem with others though, it's nice to have someone to discuss it with.

Jesus Christ, Bradley... :P Over-the-top!

Anywho: I've already read it (several times), and I'm thrilled to see the movie.

I wonder if anyone will ever attempt a film adaptation of Anne's Agnes Grey.

You should read the book, too. Not necessarily in advance of or because of this film adaptation, but simply because it is a book everyone should read.
