 News about Elf 2
Is Elf 2 on Will Ferrell's Wish List?
Variety reports that New Line is in talks with Will Ferrell to star in Elf 2. The original grossed an impressive $220 million worldwide.
"We're only going to make this if it's with Will," confirmed New Line production president Toby Emmerich. Ferrell would earn $20 million plus for the sequel.
Still up in the air is who will direct the movie. Original's helmer Jon Favreau has the right to look at a script first, but it's unsure whether he'll end up behind the camera for a sequel.
If Favreau doesn't return, New Line executive vice president of production Kent Alterman is said to be a favorite of Ferrell's for the director's chair.
Scott Armstrong (Old School), who did uncredited work on Elf, is expected to be tapped as the screenwriter for Elf 2.

That's quite a large paycheck for Mr. Ferrell!
Elf was a really good movie, so I hope Will Ferrell considers doing it.

I was pretty sure this would happen early last year, but nothing was announced and I thought for once a studio actually made a smart decision on a sequel. I guess they didn't.
Who knows... Elf 2 might be as funny as the first.

Elf was funny, but it felt like a stand alone, but its Hollywood and hits = sequels. Also, that is a huge salary for Will Ferrell.

You reiterated what everyone else said into one big, happy post.

Can't wait. It'll put him back on track after Bewitched, Curious George, and Kicking and Screaming.
Now, if he does A Confederacy of Dunces, though, Elf 2 will put him bellllow track
