The Island is going to put Michael Bay on the map
http://www.aintitcoolnews.com/display.cgi?id=19410
Every single movie Michael Bay touches turns to gold, Im just glancing through the forum the past few hours and I haven't heard any mention at all about the Island. Isnt the movie on anyone's must see list? Even if you dont like Michael Bay, the cast itself is worth the admission of your ticket alone. Trust me and trust The movie is going to blow everyone's socks off. Even at AICN, Harry is praising every single shot footage of the movie. This movie is going to be overlooked and under everyones radar. After this summer, no one will remember War of the Worlds, the last Star Wars and the artsy Batman, they will look back and remember how great The Island would be. Mark my words, The Island will be nominated for some academy award next year and hopefully best director. Michael Bay was robbed for best director when he should of got it for the misunderstood Pearl Harbor

I totally agree with what Mr Beak wrote in that AICN article. Spielberg needs to take notes from Michael Bay on how Minority Report should of been. The Island will show Spielberg how it is done. Why is it so difficult to grasp about Michael Bay getting a nomination for The Island? I heard alot of great things about the movie and if there is something Michael Bay is good at, its conveying human emotions on the screen. He did a wonderful job on Armageddon and Pearl Harbor

What the hell does he know? He thinks Pearl Harbor was great, obviously he's just on Bay's jocks.

Well that's Harry's job is to praise every single shot of footage from a movie.. That's how he hypes the hell out of it.. Hell, he praised every single shot on the set of Batman and Robin and look how that turned out?? As for no one remembering the last Star Wars?? War of the Worlds?? Batman??(This one is possible) Other than that, I seriously doubt it..

Deffinatly looking forward to the movie, and Bay deffinatly has some skill in directing. This is his big stage, and his big chance, here is hoping he doesnt screw it up, I would love to see him succed.

Bullshit.. [-( There wasn't 1 damn thing wrong with MINORITY REPORT and was infinitely better than anything Bay has made to my recollection..

Michael Bay is a great action director. He knows the right combination to make a good action movie, and he's always having box office hits. I'm definently seeing this, though I'll judge more when the trailer comes out.

Im looking forward to the movie also. But Bay is no top-class director, just a bloody good action-adventure director, there is a difference.
Godamn Scarlett is fine!

Watch the flames ignite between the Bay-lovers and Bay Haters! Which side are you on?Are you with Satan(Bay) or you are with us?
I wonder if Torilla will see it because of Scarlett Johanson..hmm?

Michael Bay makes awesome Action movies. I'm sure The Island won't disapoint. Many many will be amazed after the first trailer comes out. Great cast too.

The Island looks good so far, but I think Michael Bay is one of the biggest hacks out there. Seriously, his only good movie has pretty much been The Rock.
Armageddon and Pearl Harbor (despite having great visual effects) were cheesy and melodramatic, and Bad Boys II was positively godawful. Ugh.

yeah sure. I doubt this movie will be very memerable, compared to something like ROTS, or even BB. Answering your question, Bay is already on the map. All his movies so far have been straight hits, one after the other. Bay is great action director, not oscar worth though.
Also, i've noticed Bruckheimer isn't attached as producer of this flick. So far all of Bays movies (hes done 5 total i think) have had Bruckheimer as the Producer, i wonder how this will affect the movie. Btw i was checking IMDB and one of the assistant producers is Neil Morrisey, is that a joke or something?
