Well I dislike quite a few of them. But I did love Before Sunset, and the Passion of the Christ.

I'm starting to get into indies. They're usually very good and well made. Some of my favorites from 2004 were...

Hotel Rwanda
Million Dollar Baby
Shaun of the Dead
Garden State
Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind
The Passion of the Christ
Fahrenheit 9/11
Napoleon Dynamite (it's starting to grow on me )

I thought you didn't care for Eternal Sunshine.

By the way, I'm not sure I would classify Million Dollar Baby as an indie. It cost over $30M to make.

Not a fan of indies here either. People tend to latch on to them because they think they're superieur when they say something like oh I don't go see those big blockbuster movies because it's so over the top. I just watch the indie movies because they're down to earth. Those kind of people is what pisses me off.

I knew I would get some bad respponses for this. But yeah I don't think all indies are bad, some of them are quite good. and as Rusty said its sometimes the people who like them that get odd about films.

well, i *half* agree with this :) i judge every film on its own merits; some indie films i love. but i think a lot of people like indie films by default, or give them more chance than they really deserve - simply so they can feel quirky and arty about themselves.

i'm pretty confident there's a whole bunch of people who love obscure foreign films, yet would turn their noses up at the same films if they happened to be high-budget + american, because they have a certain image of themselves, which involves liking obscure foreign films.

on the other hand, there's lots of people who ignore anything that doesn't cost a gazillion dollars, or star twenty a-list hollywood actors - and they're just as silly.

i think the trick is to enjoy the films you enjoy, and try not to get any grand ideas about your own tastes...

I was counting anything I gave an A or B to, plus Napoleon Dynamite since I was considering changing the grade for.
