I'm glad I recorded The Simpsons last night, I was leaving so I couldn't watch it. I can't wait for The Ring Two and Cursed TV spots!!!

a good trailer for WoTW but underwhelming... not because it was bad but it seemed really incomplete.

lol it was a 30 second taste to get the viewer interested Did it do that for you :?: I think it was the second best spot to the longest yard, I was suprised by how good that looked

yea .. 30 second spots are tough .. its difficult to make an ad for those. i think if i knew nothing of the book or the fact that this movie is coming out, the trailer would end and i would be like "cool" and "hunh" at the same time.

I missed the first quarter, but I saw the rest.
Hitch: I'm tired of the whole "white men can't jump"/"white men can't dance"/"white men aren't cool"/"Let's pick the most uncoordinated fattest most middle-aged white men and set him against the coolest black guy, just to up the ante" cliche. Haven't we beaten this to death?
Robots: Do all the characters really have to be wisecracking stand-up comics who make clever real-world references? Again? I've seen this cliche in everything from the scripted Cosby kids to Robin Williams's Aladdin to Shark Tale. I don't much mind the references, but the way they do it in Hollywood these days, they're very self-concious about it -- the screen equivalent of playing the joke, and then waiting for the audience to laugh. On top of it, Robots threw in more of that "If you're not urban cool, you don't exist" cliche thrown on top. Subtle as a chainsaw. Enough.
War of the Worlds: Oh look, we're about to be attacked by CGI. Again. Wish the commercial had said more about the script.
Batman Begins: Actually looked interesting. I'm not one to go nuts over CGI, but I did like that they are showing another version of the origin story. Didn't audiences really like the origin part of Spiderman? This felt like the same thing.
Sahara: I had no idea this movie existed. It showed potential to break somewhat out of the usual formula, but darned if I can remember what it was about.
I'm sorry I missed Constantine. Fill me in. Did Keanu Reeves move any facial muscles?

LMAO =D>
Eren, apparently War of the Worlds is going for a completely different feel, no massive CGI destruction of landmarks. Not quite the same old, same old. I'm looking forward to it.

WOTW looks like they dont have much finished material yet. All stuff in the Teaser Trailer was focused on one scene and the same now here in the superbowl ad. I really hope they dont rush it. They have given themself really less time for such a huge project.

erendis. hitch looks great but you're right and i couldn't stop myself from laughing. your comments were great.
batman begins actually has no cgi. Or very little. most of the stuff you saw were actual stunt work and/or sets.
i think you hit the nail on WOTW. not the cgi part but the fact that even i wanted to see more of the script.

I hope they dont rush WotW, and it does look to be more realistic than all this CGI crap.

All I can make out from the WOTW Superbowl trailer was Dakota crying and lots n lots of close up views of Tom Cruise's face like he was a male model trying to sell facial products for men. The effects inst anything extrodinary since it does look like it was straight out of Twister that was made almost 9 years ago

One thing I wonder. Did George Lucas made superbowl advertising for EP 2 back in 2002?????
EP 3 is coming in May and no superbowl advertising in the for Star wars very important US home market?????
Or does GL think "Why spend money?.Who cars?. Everyone will go and see it." ?????????
Or is the Full Trailer so closed they skiped superbowl ad for that reason??? Seems likely.

Im expecting some guy who types in bold to be on a defensive mode for those comments you made about SWs. Well the dumb thing that the studios did was to attach the trailer to of all things Robots and they dont even target the same audience. Its not like little toddlers care for Star Wars

From what I saw, toddlers aren't going to care for Robots either. At least, I don't think they should.
And seriously, is Dakota Fanning the only girl in Hollywood? She's in everything!

Which is why so far there hasnt been a family CGI film that has bombed so far. If a terrible movie like Shark Tale can make 150 million despite being unfunny, I think the same toddlers will make Robots a hit movie
