Would it be possible for people to see other predictions when when the predictions themselves are closed? I don't see the point in having to wait for final reults on Monday to see something that was finalized up to a week prior.

Final predictions will be able to be seen by anyone once guessing for that movie has been closed. You do not have to wait for the results.

Ok. Thanks for the help.
Great idea, btw. Screw the derby; I might actually be good at this.

I think you'll be able to ... I'm thinking about it .. i think it allows for everything to be seen before the results come out .. hmm .. we'll find out in about 11 hours ... if not, i'll add it in.

http://www.worldofkj.com/rtSMovieScore.php
That should be the link.
The first combo box form will prolly not work till i've put the score in. I think the bottom one will. The way they work right now were not designed for showing movies upon closing.
I'll modify that next week after the predictions come out so people dont get hindered by it. if i try messing with that right now, it'll lead to trouble.

you know some movies % do come the day before they come out.
and how about how they will change
(like polar express had a 70% and is now like at 58)

Nobody is reading the guide on the pages. It explains all of it.
Predictions end 3 days before the movie comes out in most circumstances (minus this week)
Actual RT Scores get updated every monday (usually). Movies with varying scores over a long span of time will also have scores updated if required .. again.

Alright! Its comforting to know that there are a few of us who predicted 15% and lower for both movies

The lists are ordered by percentages. What i'll do is i'll put a second order on them by predictions or people names. what do you suggest?

Well, one is at 3%, and the other is at 8% right now.

sheesh .. we're about to see a LOOOOOT of 0% accuracy predicitons... remember if you go over double the amount that is the actual score, its an automatic 0. no 2 ways about it!

Can I make a suggestion, Baba? I rather the game be scored by how many percent points you are off from the actual reviews as opposed to taking the whole average % and compare it to your predicted one like in derby games? I think it wont be far to say give both people 0 when one person predicted a 20% RT score compared to another person who predicted a 60% RT score for an actual movie that only bordered on 4% RT. If that was the case, it would be very very hard to make close enough predictions. I rather have a person be rewarded points for having their RT prediction closer to an actual one

suggest an example of the scoring or a formula. I'd like something like that too .. just dont know how to implement it.

Instead of the tradition system of derby scores like an example
Actual rotten score 10%:
John Doe #1 predicted a 30% rotten score. His score 0%
John Doe #2 predicted a 60% RT score. His score 0%
Its not too fair for John Doe 1 because he was only off 20% compared to John Doe 2 who is 50% off
I like this system better
John Doe #1's score 30%-(actual 10%)= 20% difference. 100%-20%=80 points for John Doe #1
John Doe #2 score 60%-(actual 10%)= 50% difference. 100%-50%= 50 points for John Doe #2
Does it sound better?
If its a fresh review it would use the same sytem too
Actual RT score 95%
John Doe #1 predicted 75% ..(acutal95%)-75%=20%. His score 80 points
John Doe #2 predicted 85%..(actual 95%)-85%=10%. His score 90 points

its not tooo bad ... any loop holes in the system?
I can work on this tomorrow before the updates take place. it'll be tricky cause i wanna make sure i don't end up screwing any of the results. if i do, we might ahve to restart the game. would that be ok?

My system is easy to calculate then using ratio and fractions so no loop holes. Well as long as you keep track of what we predicted for Boogeyman and Wedding Date, I wouldnt mind if you restart and people have to predict Hitch and the others over again. Otherwise I would lose my 7% for Wedding Date and 10% Boogeyman which on both movies I'm only 2-3% off and I dont want to lose one of my top spots

I've updated your scoring scheme. I'm too scared to check it out right now though. Will do the trial run on this tomorrow.
