 The Recruit, I need answers!
I can see that this film has potential, but i have to be able to understand it first:
1. Who does Al Pacino work for?
2. Who does Colin Farrell work for?
3. Who does Colin Farrell believe Al Pacino works for, for the duration of the film?
4. Who does Moynahan (Layla) work for?
5. Explain the ending?
Thankyou

Re: The Recruit, I need answers!
I'm not sure what you mean by all of your questions, but I'll try my best.
Spoilers:
1. Who does Al Pacino work for?
Well, of course the CIA, but really himself. It seems he was trying to sell sensative materials to someone, probably terrorists or another country.
2. Who does Colin Farrell work for?
Al Pacino. He thinks he is working for the CIA, but he really has no official position at the agency. In fact, Al Pacino is using Colin to help him achieve his goal. This is, of course, without Colin's knowledge.
3. Who does Colin Farrell believe Al Pacino works for, for the duration of the film?
The CIA, which he does. It's near the end however that Colin realizes what Al's doing.
4. Who does Moynahan (Layla) work for?
The CIA.
5. Explain the ending?
What part of the ending do you not get?

Algren wrote: I can see that this film has potential, but i have to be able to understand it first: 1. Who does Al Pacino work for?: he works for himself and the CIA which he betrayes. 2. Who does Colin Farrell work for? he works for no one really. Pacino played him and tricked him into thiinking he was not in the CIA and got him to leave so he could later on blame him for what he himself was doing. Colin was a tool in his game. 3. Who does Colin Farrell believe Al Pacino works for, for the duration of the film? the CIA duh. 4. Who does Moynahan (Layla) work for? the CIA well kinda shes still in training. 5. Explain the ending? Colin finds out that Pacino was using him as a tool for his own plan to betraye the CIA . He used Colin to get trhe info he needed so it would not be traced back to him. Colin cought on in the ending wich is why he left his cell on and recoded what Pacino was saying to him well he was trying to kill him. Thankyou

Spolers ahoy:
Basically, at the end, Colin's character was chased into the warehouse thingeymabop by Deniro's character, in which they have the little chat. You know that. What he did was fool Deniro into thinking that he had broadcasted his speech about going against the CIA to every computer in the CIA that he could, but he didn't. Eventually when Colin runs outside and all the guns and police are there, Deniroe thinks it is for himself, because of the fake broadcast. So he did the cliched little speech the bad guy makes ahwen he gets caught, and all of the cops realize that Deniro is the one they need to get, not Colin.

You mean Pacino
If you want to take it a step further you could say that absolutely nothing happened in the movie was real and it was ALL a training excersize.
