Post Dogg at an all time low cast as a kiddie dog.
Yesterday I saw the "Racing Stripes" poster in the subway. All I have to say is this is a record low for almost everyone involved including Snoop Dogg who is going to do the voice of, get this, a dog. What was it? Babe, Pig in the City, was so successful that everything has to be these weird talking animals now? Looks to me like its supposed to use live animals and just have their mouths move. I guess its the story of a zebra that thinks its a race horse, voiced by Frankie Muniz. Mandy Moore, Michael Clarke Duncan, Dustin Hoffman, Whoopi Goldberg...all in this movie. All I have to say is, the paychecks better have been momentous, because otherwise I see no reason for doing this.

Ugh, anyone see the recent Animal Farm that was done with live animals, but their mouths were CGI'd so that they could speak english. It was outright unsettling. I watched 20 minutes of it and ran to hide and cower in the corner of a room just to get the images out of my mind. Seriously, this is why we have animation and full CGI, I hate these live animal productions.

And I usually like Dogg's little cameos. He's fun when he shows up in Old School, and Bones wasn't that bad a film at all. What the hell is he doing in a kiddie movie voicing a dog? This must be referencing back to his old "Doggie Style" heyday, minus the language, sex, drinking, pissing, and loads of other content that I highly doubt are going to surface in this silly movie.

I hope it flops big time, and that the actors get a grip and start picking agents with a little bit more quality control. :x

Youre being overly critical these days .. i do not approve of this.

**Ties Galia up**, leaves her near subway with poster of racing stripes**

on a side note, i dont know how the movie will play but i love stories involving some dumb f**k thinking theyre something else ..

a zebra thinking its a race horse .. and the movie is called racing stripes .. i think its priceless ... i love stupidity when people know the whole idea is ridiculus and stupid!

Talking animals=huge money maker. They would never flop. Look at how well Babe,Garfield,Kangaroo Jack, Dr Dolittle, and Chicken Run did. I know majority of people hate talking animals but little kids sure love it.

In other words, the cuteness of those talking animals owns all you carnivore animal eaters

And the abomination and craptacular (though, not compared to his other films) Cuba Gooding Jr. vehicle Snow Dogs....

Ugh. Talking animals.

Thanks Torri, you know what I'm getting at.

Chicken Run doesn't count. That movie was fun. That was fully animated talking animals. I'm talking about the Hybrids like Animal Farm, and apparently, Racing Stripes. Put an end to it now please.

I know. I said ever since Babe was successful there has been a whole slew of unsuccessful spin-offs. I completely forgot about Mister Ed.

That's a walk down memory lane.

I still can't believe Dogg is being a dog. That's selling out to the umpteenth degree, he should have at least been some other kind of animal so that it wouldn't be such a marketing of his name.

Did you just have a different avatar ten seconds agoo?

Yes but it came out way too big. Im trying to keep a theme going on with my username. I only wish I can change my name back to some mysterious masked man so I can have a bigger selection of avatars.

Generally speaking, I believe the best talking animal movies wheter its animated or made into live action are the animal movies that deal with their environment of existence and constently being endangered by humans. Its probably the same reason why you mention Chicken Run and Babe being one of those great movies and me making a mention of Charlotte's Web. Deep inside all of us, we want to be vegetarians

D'oh...the reviewers aren't bashing it like crazy. They actually don't seem to mind it.

From Nytimes review:

Steve Harvey and David Spade, as two scatologically inclined flies named Buzz and Scuzz, cheerfully contribute to lowering the tone, while Snoop Dogg, who's been known to steal other films singlehandedly with his sly wit, gives a lazy performance as a lazy bloodhound. "Racing Stripes" is unlikely to ascend to the pantheon of perennially watchable children's films, but like its hero (and that of every other horse-racing picture yet committed to celluloid), what it lacks in skill, it makes up for in heart.

Ahhhhhhhhh...the Apocalypse is upon us!
