I've seen several clips now and I'm not sure I could last more than 10 minutes with the rhymed iambic pentameter. Too much for my feeble cinema taste.
So you've never watched a big screen interpretation of Shakespeare? :-s

I really enjoyed director Sally Potter's past work. The Tango Lesson was one of the best films of 1997. Extremely well excuted, hyper-romantic. It's a real gem. I'll have to pass on Yes though. Too arty farty.
It could work well enough if used interestingly. If Potter dwells too much on the way she's emphasized the form, it'll just be boring. If the form lends itself to the content, it could be great.
Think what Nolan's Memento would have sounded like before viewing the movie. A pretentious new narrative weave? Most likely, but when one watched the movie, it fit perfectly. We'll see if this is a similar case....
