Post The Most Powerful Film I have ever seen! Two Thumbs way up!!
Lilja 4-ever (2002) is a amazing film! My god! You forget you are watching an actual film at all. Its so powerful of a movie that I was amazed and sad at the same time. Makes me want to get up and fix this problem right now!

I truly didn't think it would be this good but wow did it surprise me! This is a must see for everyone in my opinion!

Now why do I get the impression that this was a thread designed to do nothing more than spam?? This movie that you've seen is supposedly so great, yet, it's a movie that probably no one has ever heard of and you probably already knew that.. :-k

This is an actual film, and it is actually deeply unsettling.

Since I have imtim on my ignore list, I can't read his/her/it's posts, but BKB did quote him/her/it, so I did read it.

Anyways, the story is about a teenage girl in Russia who is lured into the sex trade, forced to become a prostitute in Sweden, and has to endure rape, abuse, etc.

Then, she jumps off a bridge and kills herself.

The end.

I'm not kidding. That's what happens. Imagine a film with no single moment of happiness or joy. It's all depressing. Everything in it.

No, don't worry, I haven't told you about the young male friend she has who dies.

Anyways, look, this film is so depressing that no matter how much you find out, you'll still be depressed.

I saw Lily-4-Ever two years ago here in Oz. Incredible film. So bleak - makes you really think about how bad things are for people and makes you relook at your own life and all the little complaints seem like nothing.

One of my favourites of 2003. I gave it an A+

Ok, f-f-f-f-f-fuck that. I hate movies that are endlessly depressing to try and make it seem like they have some sort of higher meaning.
