Tsui Hark's Seven Swords to Open Cannes? UPDATE!
Nothing definite yet, but according to this article Tsui Hark's martial arts epic Seven Swords may be the opening film at the coming Cannes Film Festival. The word came from the film's editor, not from someone at the festival, but she's certainly in a position to know more about it than I do ... the film stars a mix of old and new martial arts stars including the fantastic Donnie Yen ...

Looks like we've got confirmation on this. Check it out:

"I check this wonderfull site every day, and I can confirm that Tsui Hark's Seven Swords will open the Cannes Festival. The managing director of Fortissimo Films told me that a few months agao. Fortissimo invests in Seven Swords and do the international sales. Like 2046, CHUNGKING EXPRESS, ALL ABOUT LILY CHOU CHOU ect."

Fortissimo would definitely be in a position to know, so if they're saying it's so then it's so. Nice.
