It's called Altered (changed from Probed - THANK GOD). Rogue Pictures just picked it up for worldwide distribution. Here's the plot synopsis:

The story follows four men who were abducted by aliens 15 years ago and lost a friend because of it. Somehow they've managed to capture one of the aliens alive, and all they want now is, quite simply, payback.

Sounds very interesting. Then again, so did Blair Witch...

The official site is great. Uber-creepy. Not much is on there yet, but shooting starts soon, so hopefully we'll get a teaser soon.

No, I thought it was an ingenious little movie, but ah well, it's not for everyone's tastes.

I also quite liked it.

I believe if marketing wasn't such a big issue, it would be a nice little cult film at the moment.

Blair Witch was incredible. [-(

Altered sounds interesting. I hope it's an alien that looks like an alien and not starman.

Blair had its moments. They were just inexperienced. I found the interviews in the beginning, the part where they've been going north the whole day and still come to the same river crossing, and the house at the end pretty scary. The "signs" looked like painting isles, seirously. But they did ok. I think the smartest part for me is how they coached it as found footage. I think instead of wasting that much time in between scary moments just watching them swear and freak out, that they should have editted in interview material from the people who found the footage, and the people who decided to edit and releases it. Sort of mockumentary style. Then it would have crossed the line from being a good concept to actually being a good movie.

As to this one. It's not impressing as much. It looks like the alien version of SHallow Grave or ISmple Plan. A character study in how the people freak out against eachother, not the alien. Eh, we'll see.

I couldn't agree more about the alien. I think it's vital to the film for it to be, you know, an actual alien.

As for Blair Witch, i've seriously never been more annoyed wathcing a movie in my entire life. The incessant screaming and cursing (I swear these kids know about seven words and half of them are a variation of "fuck"), the herky-jerky vomit inducing camera, and the fact that it's not scary in the slightest. It was an ingenious concept and it had masterful marketing, but that doesn't make it a good film.

I'm really getting more and more curious about the whole reverse abduction deal.

Are they going to tie the alien to a chair Mr. Blonde style?

Aliens roll 4 or 5 deep, intergalactic style no less. How the hell do they capture one? If a pantry is involved, I'm out.

Is it going to be a classic grey?

I thought The Blair Witch Project had a few creepy moments but was too...I don't know. I didn't like it much. It's a classic compared to its insanely awful sequel, though.

This movie...does anyone remember a movie from about 11-12 years ago with D.B. Sweeney called Fire in the Sky? It wasn't that good but it had an alien abduction sequence that still gives me chills when I think about.

Fire in the Sky was GREAT and based on a true story.

The scene with the goo and the human remains, the operating table, and the scattered personal belongings in the corridor of the UFO. Truly scary stuff.

Now those old creepy aliens were well-made. That's the kind of quality I would expect in Altered.

Libs, you should read the book by Travis Walton sometime. I agree that the movie wasn't very good, but the book is really creepy. Actually, some of the chapters are available at his website.
