 Kinky Boots!
My follow up thread to Sorry, Haters!..... a movie with an even strange name...
http://www.thefilmfactory.co.uk/kinkybo ... /site.html
^ You'll have to poke around the site for the trailer, which is pretty charming. IMDB reception is warm with a 6.6 rating... apparently this is more fun (ala Priscilla) than serious subject matter. I know Chiwetel Ejiofor has been getting great reviews for his part. (You've just seen him in Inside Man and Serenity)....
Funny, I've been meaning to post this for a few days now. IMDB front page was a (strange) reminder.
Anyone else think it looks fun?

Got any chance of seeing it in the near future?
I hope its another Priscilla, not a Connie & Carla....

The FFF at Enzian was the closest chance I had but I was on the other side of the US. Not sure when its expanding.

I'm about 200 miles from the The Angelika in Dallas.
According to FilmJerk it's playing there beginning this weekend, although The Angelika site lists it's coming on 5/5.

Okay, here's one I didn't hear enough accolades for - Kinky Boots kicked it out of the stands!
After just recently describing Billy Elliot as "one of the few uplifting British underdog movies that didn't work for me", well, wouldn't ya know it? Along comes the [b]best[/i] one I've seen in quite some time. I loved it. Awesome story that only briefly falters at the outset of the final act, but even that may be attributed to the lack of experience rather than the heels. The lack of easily identifiable actors for the most part, gave this film a very old school vibe that fit like a pair of custom boots (with a holster for your riding crop!).
This one's goin' on my 2006 top ten list...
7 out of 5.
