Hehe, with 50 films listed, everybody should find some films they think are overrated. I'm sure Lecter isn't happy to see Run Lola Run and The Blair Witch Project in there. Overall, I find the list decent, except that there should be some Asian films.

Actually, I am quite content with the lost, even though many "indies" here, don't even seem to be indies anymore to us due to their popularity. Sure, I would love Blair Witch Project and Run Lola Run banned from this and any other list, but other than that I must say I am pretty happy with it, way happier than with the horror movies list.
Donnie Darko has got to be by far and away my favorite of the bunch and I like to see it that high on the list. Reservoir Dogs deserves its spot as well, I'd say. Very happy to see The Usual Suspects, Sideways and The Terminator in the Top 10. Hey, it's actually a really good list.
Other hightlights of the list include Amores Perros, The Evil Dead, Being John Malkovich, The Descent and City of God.

Those are the ones I've seen. I don't understand why HAPPINESS is in the list.
But it is a great list.

It's certainly an interesting list.
I love Grosse Pointe Blank so very much, but its existence as an independent film is news to me.

Donnie Darko #2?? I agree with Andaroo in saying the movie is highly overated. I did like it but I dont see what the fuss is about. Was it because its a movie set in the 80s about time travel with a bunch of Tears of Fears songs mixed in?

Glad to see Donnie Darko, The Terminator, and The Usual Suspects all make the top ten. Memento should also be in the top ten.
As with the horror list, the inclusion of Blair Witch automatically lowers its credibility. Oh well.

Donnie Darko is an awful movie and whoever likes it thinks all children should die in gas chambers without trials.

I never quite understood the hype. It's not a bad film, many people seem to like it, but it never clicked with me.
I'm a film noir whore so Blood Simple fits right up my alley.
I'm all over the place with some of the directors:
Not a fan of Sex, Lies, And Videotape and most of Soderbergh's early work but I think The Limey and Out of Sight are perfect films.
Can't stand Eraserhead, can't stand Lynch but The Straight Story is incredible.
Shallow Grave over Trainspotting, that's a tough call. Boyle's indie opus Trainspotting opened the floodgates for UK neo cinema.

Same here. Fargo is good, but I don't think it's incredible and I don't see anything in McDormand's performance that was supposedly so outstanding.
Now, Loyal, O Brother, where art thou? deserves some love, though!
