Ang Lee talks about Taiwan's Golden Horses award
Stephen Chow's "Kung Fu Hustle" won Best Director, Best Film, Best Supporting Actress, Best Visual Effects and Best Make-Up and Costume Design in Taiwan's Golden Horses award. Hou Hsiao-hsien's "Three Times" only won Best Actress. Tsai Ming Liang's "Wayward Cloud" won nothing.
Ang Lee think that Stephen Chow's victory is a surprise. He thought that "Three Times" is a much better film than "Kung Fu Hustle" artistically. Comparing those three directors artistically, Ang Lee think that Stephen Chow is just a kid, Hou Hsiao-hsien and Tsai Ming Liang are adults. He thinks that watching Hou Hsiao-hsien's works can make people thinking a lot, while "Kung Fu Hustle" left people feeling empty.
But Ang Lee still praises that Stephen Chow had made a film that enjoys a big box office success.
