 Re: Predict The Winners
Still tweaking these but I'm mostly okay with the predictions. I think I'm too heavy on Mad Max: Fury Road, maybe it'll split the Sound categories with The Revenant.

Algren's predictions are surprisingly conventional and along the lines of the general consensus.

 Re: Predict The Winners
I'm predicting The Revenant for the two sound categories instead of Mad Max. Though I keep changing my mind. Same with Best Picture. I could honestly see a split happening. And Supporting Actress seems fluid. Vikander is the frontrunner, but she's a rather weak frontrunner. I think those four categories and editing are the most competitive and could see a surprise. And I'm also slightly ambivalent on Foreign Film and Documentary. Mustang has been campaigning hard. And so has Netflix for What Happened, Miss Simone? Though I do think Amy is very strong. But Son of Saul could be that hard-to-watch frontrunner that loses to a more Oscar-friendly film.

 Re: Predict The Winners
I'm going to split Sound
Sound Editing - Mad Max: Fury Road Sound Mixing - The Revenant
That way I'm hopefully guaranteed one win.

That way I'm hopefully guaranteed one win. What if there's actually a split and it goes the other way around? I thought about that. Apparently if there is a split, it's very likely to go the way I'm predicting. But honestly I feel like The Revenant and Mad Max: Fury Road are going to be really close in some of those techs.

 Re: Predict The Winners
Why are you all predicting Ave Maria for Short Film?
Or is it because Loyal predicted it and the rest just copied? Because Shok and Stutterer clearly seem to have a better shot to me.

 Re: Predict The Winners
I'm gonna go with Shok. I have seen all the nominees and it is hard to believe that someone would watch them and not vote for the film from Kosovo.

 Re: Predict The Winners
I think I'm going to go out on a limb and say The Big Short wins Best Picture. I favor MikeQ's post about how The Revenant only won BP in places Birdman didn't last year. And PGA may be the guild to have over DGA these days
