 Who could pull a Bennett Miller this year? And be miraculpusly nominated for Best Director, with the film missing the longer Best Picture lineup?
For the record, I don't think this will happen, but then again, no one thought it would happen last year.
I can actually imagine it happening to George Miller. Mad Max missing the BAFTA nom is quite a hit to the film's chances and at the end of the day, it is the 4th movie in a post-apocalyptic action saga. Still hard to imagine it being embraced by the stuffy Academy.
Another candidate is Denis Villeneuve for Sicario.
