Is this the closest race we've seen in the past decade for Best Picture, The Social Network vs. The Kings Speech. Can't choose between them, i personally love both movies.

I really hope Natalie Portman wins for Best Actress and Colin Firth for Best Actor. Easily the two standout performances of the year.

The two biggest snubs, and makes me so sad is no Christopher Nolan for Best Director and no Andrew Garfield for Best Supporting Actor....lame!

^ Agreed on the snubs.

Something tells me that TKS is going empty-handed. They have been doing something similar in the past....remember Fincher's Benjamin Button, Wier's Master and Commander and last year Avatar from Cameron.

TKS has been nominated in categories where it looks comparatively weak to all the others. And I still don't think getting more nominations actually favors it to win the big trophy, though it definitely has started to give a better competition.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is the only one of those three you might be able to compare to The King's Speech.

Master and Commander came out in The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King's year. Citizen Kane couldn't have won Best Picture that year. Plus, The King's Speech is a "charming," sentimental triumph-over-adversity movie. Master and Commander is a detail-oriented war movie which keeps its characters at a fair distance.

And Avatar's a sci-fi movie.

Citizen Kane didn't even win to begin with.
