Clearly you are joking, Mr. Gunslinger.

The Social Network certainly has great, sharp, rapid-fire dialogue, Sorkin's specialty. But it misses the mark in another key area: humanity.

The Fighter doesn't have a challenging form, but it's so good at what it does. The characters are colorful, detailed, three-dimensional, etc. The dialogue rings true. The dynamics between the characters are always engaging and keep the viewer on edge. Just a completely rock solid, well-written screenplay.

The Kids Are All Right. I do agree though, The Fighter had a fantastic as well and I almost voted for it.

Re: What was the BEST Screenplay among the 10 Oscar Nominati
I have not seen Winter's Bone, The Kid's Are All Right, or Another Year yet, but I would say True Grit and then SN. Both have great screenplays, the rest of these are pretty weak though.

Gunslinger wrote: The Social Network certainly has great, sharp, rapid-fire dialogue, Sorkin's specialty. But it misses the mark in another key area: humanity. I see that as the point. It's a story about distanced people who are responsible for building an infrastructure which attempts to bring humanity closer. Yet the people involved still end up being isolated and never finding connection. Facebook as a corporation is known for distancing itself from the human/moral aspects of its business decisions when making large scale changes. So I guess I see it as fitting that the screenplay is a bit robotic.

See, Grill, the thing is that my answers are not stupid at all: you are just too stupid to understand them properly.

The Fighter.
The Social Network shouldn't even be nominated.

Re: What was the BEST Screenplay among the 10 Oscar Nominati
Because Network fails at its main goal: To create a story that's both about lost love and friendship when in reality it's just about business. There's no humanity in it when it clearly wants it to be this tale of broken souls. Also, the random speech Rashida Jones says is completely incoherent. Sure, the dialogue is fast-paced and witty, but who cares when you feel nothing for the characters?
