Never would have thought that hereafter would make the shortlist over, say, Clash of the Titans, The Wolfman or Prince of Persia, though!

Re: Visual Effects Semifinalists Hereafter and Scott Pilgrim do seem to be the natural runners-up on the list in terms of this category's history, which is unfortunate. I would love for Scott Pilgrim to be recognized in particular.
Tron: Legacy deserves to win, but I bet it'll go to Inception.
