James Murphy could be eligible. There are other songs on the soundtrack--one by Galaxie 500, one by Albert Hammond, etc.--but I believe Murphy's score in and of itself is original.

Daft Punk nominated for an Oscar would be exciting. But as Emily said, it will no doubt be DQ'd. They'll find a similarity between one of the film compositions and a past release and bam!

I am still slightly angry they DQ'd Jonny Greenwood a few years ago.
