Which host(s) did you prefer: song-and-dance man Hugh Jackman or the more traditional one-liner-dispensing duo of Steve and Alec?

Baldwin was extraneous, but Martin landed a couple huge laughs and was charming throughout. His improvised line after the Precious writer's pathetic, awkward speech = gold.

Hugh was cute, but so forgettable. Or more forgettable than the norm, since hosting the Oscars doesn't lend itself to legendary performances.

They need to let Robin Williams host already. He would be golden and bring a bit of live-wire jumpiness to the proceedings (yet he's also a veteran who knows not to go "too far").

I love Colbert, but I'm not sure he would be a great Oscar host. I could see the room turning on him. Also, he fell fairly flat in his bits at the Grammys; he's not the best fit for the "genial, workin' the room" type gigs.

Jim Carrey would be good.

Huge for sure.

They need to bring back Whoopi Goldeberg. SHe was great in the 2002 Oscars.

Martin was good, better than Jackman who isn't funny enough, or at least he wasn't when hosting the Oscars. Baldwin didn't need to be there. Martin alone would have been better.

I agree. If Crystal is not available/doesn't want to do it then Martin is the best choice. But please, no more Rocks or Stewarts.

Jackman, I suppose. None of them was great. The writing for Baldwin/Martin was way worse, though.

Hugh was way better than this year's offensively non-funny duo.

The only funny thing anyone said the whole night was Martin's spontaneous remark after the speech of the Precious writer.

I also found the comment about Hans Landa looking for Jews and showing the room funny.

Jew jokes on an Oscar night? How unpredictable.

Martin > Baldwin > Jackman. This year was just okay but better than last year's awfulness. The Paranormal parody was a highlight, made me laugh out loud.
