I predict that I will not be satisfied with the result, even if my prediction turns out to be correct.

I really wish I were ballsy enough to pick BASTERDS for Picture because all along I've had this nagging feeling that it could win.

I did. It is possible, especially given the new way of voting. If it's everyone's third or fourth choice, it could win. Plus you have Harvey behind it.

Alright, I don't care. I'm going to change my predictions and be a little gutsy. I can't get over that nagging feeling that INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS is going to win Best Picture.

My Predictions.

Best Picture
Inglourious Basterds (It's won the SAG for Best Emsemble, and it will the most support from the acting branch. and with the new voting system, ranking from one to ten, it can get all number 2 votes and still win).

Animated Feature
Up

Directing
The Hurt Locker Kathryn Bigelow

Actor in a Leading Role
Crazy Heart Jeff Bridges

Actress in a Leading Role
The Blind Side Sandra Bullock

Actor in a Supporting Role
Inglourious Basterds Christoph Waltz

Actress in a Supporting Role
Precious (Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire) Mo'Nique

Art Direction
Avatar (tough time between Holmes and Sherlock, but I will go for the more liked film).

Cinematography
Avatar (Ditto for this one)

Costume Design
The Young Victoria (With Marie Antionette, Elizabeth the Golden Age and Duchess being previous winners, this will follow the pattern).

Documentary Feature
The Cove (it swept all the other awards, so why not)

Documentary Short
China's Unnatural Disaster: The Tears of Sichuan Province (the topic was my decision for this one)

Film Editing
The Hurt Locker

Foreign Language Film
The White Ribbon (never go against the holocast in this category)

Makeup
Star Trek (fantasy films usually have the adventage here).

Original Score
Up (Michael is loved by the Academy after all).

Original Song
Crazy Heart The Weary Kind (Theme from Crazy Heart) (go with the Globe win)

Short Film Animated
A Matter of Loaf and Death (Never go against Wallace and Gromit. It is also the longest of the nominees, the longer the better, witness the past three winners).

Short Film Live Action
Instead of Abracadabra (between this and New Tenants, but I see this as the crowd pleaser, ala West Bank Story, and some may be put off by New Tenants ending which makes no sense)

Sound Editing
Avatar

Sound Mixing
Avatar (visuals and sound move this film, so why not).

Visual Effects
Avatar (no contest)

Adapted Screenplay
Up in the Air

Original Screenplay
Inglourious Basterds (I see this being the more script friendly one than Hurt Locker).

"The White Ribbon" did not feature anything holocast nor anything holocaust-related.
