 Re: ACE Eddie Nominations
Big showing for District 9 and Star Trek. I think one of them is definitely making BP, and both making the field wouldn't surprise me either (replace Nine and either Invictus or A Serious Man).

 Re: ACE Eddie Nominations
Well no surprises in the animation department. Really strong for Coraline. Good one for (500) it is getting nominated now for a lot of places. This is the first time I have seen It's Complicated being nominated for a thing except for getting in the big list. Surprise takings for Star Trek and District 9 but then these are technical departments eh

 Re: ACE Eddie Nominations
Drama - Avatar (I don't think anyone is coming close to this one ) Comedy - I am routing for (500) though it could be Hangover as well (Very difficult category could there be a tie ) Animation - Up (Whatever nominations you have any animation awards are coming it's way. Personally though I am routing for Coraline but Fox and Up are getting better awards buzz then Coraline which will result the obvious)

 Re: ACE Eddie Nominations
Inglourious Basterds missing a nomination is a big hit for its winning chances. I still think it'll manage an Oscar nom (replacing Star Trek), but still...
District 9 is gearing itself up for a great nominations tally at the Oscars, I think.

 Re: ACE Eddie Nominations
These are technical awards and I think so IB will score in supporting actor, BP, BD and other non-technical awards. Same goes for Up in the Air and thus I don't find this a big hit

 Re: ACE Eddie Nominations
The Hurt Locker is the frontrunner here for drama. That film is all about editing.

 Re: ACE Eddie Nominations
The Hurt Locker's strentgh in Editing and Director is what keeps the film in the race for BP...

 Re: ACE Eddie Nominations
Very happy to see District 9 with an ACE nom, I really did not expect that. Hopefully D9 will be one of the ten Oscar BP nominees.

 Re: ACE Eddie Nominations
The Hurt Locker has this in the bag unless Avatar uses some bribing.
The Hangover is the frontrunner in the comedy category.
Animation is a new category this year. Up should have it.

 Re: ACE Eddie Nominations
I can't believe (500) Days of Summer, an incredibly tightly-woven and cleverly edited film, would lose to The Hangover.

Re: ACE Eddie Nominations (Winners announced)
The Hurt Locker had terrific editing. Certainly better than Avatar's.
