I voted "I don't care" since I really don't, but just enjoy gambling and taking that shot, even if I end up wrong, it's still fun... \:D/

I tend to stay up and watch the awards, cos I'm a bit of a saddo (they start at one in the morning here in the UK). Attempts to have friends over to watch it with me in the past have failed miserably, so this year I'll be sat watching them alone with nought but a few cans of cider by my side and my trusty fist ready to shake at the screen should any upsets occur.

I may swing by the KJ forums as well from time to time... depends on how cripplingly drunk and/or angry I get.

I won't sleep for thirty hours, will watch Ray on DVD, then the Oscars and try to avoid all useless threads you start here during and after the ceremony

I almost never watch it unless I stumble upon it by accident. Who cares what awards movies win? Nobody remembers it anyway and the best movies almost never win. In a commerce sense, all that matters is the bottom line, and in an artisitic sense, awards don't matter in art, winning an award wouldn't have made Starry Night more of a classic painting.

I don't sit glued to the TV for the red carpet stuff. I'm not the celebrity star struck type of person. I enjoy the work, but I don't go out of my way to fawn over them like others do. That's kinda ridiculous to me. They are just people, and in a lot of cases, not very nice ones.

I'll be watching the ceremony, however, as well as joining in on the festivities here. The Oscars are actually one of my favorite events to participate in the ceremony of here at the forums. It's a shame that after so many were gung ho Oscar fans for the last 2 years, in reality, it's only a small and dedicated number of us that really care. :???: Oh well, maybe we'll have a suprisingly big turnout this year.

It has been a family tradition to watch the show from beggining to end (includes pre show). We throw a party at our house every year, we have pizza, chicken, and we put two dollars in the hat to play the guessing game. Whoever gets the most winners correct, win the pot. I won the pot last year.

Don't worry.. I'll be online the moment it's announced to declare that I was either wrong or rub it in that I was right.. I love the underdog and don't follow the pack.. It makes it more of a challenge that way.. \:D/

Won't watch the red carpet show, but will catch the full real show and will tape it as well, as I've been doing since 98 (I think I missed one year).

I'm hoping for an upset. If Aviator or M$B sweep, I'll be bored to death. Though I'm a fan, LOTR's sweep last year didn't make the most exciting tv.

I'm having a feast of quesadillas, fried chicken and pizza with my galpals.

Seriously, the Oscars are a bigger deal/party to me than the Super Bowl. It's the one night of the year when I eat pretty much everything in sight, heh.

'Twas invited to an Oscar Party, but it's waaaay out in Virginia. Without a car, and considering I don't know any of her friends, I'm not sure it's worth going to...

That might be better. You won't have to suffer through Beyonce's three songs...;)

Falls Church is a cool little spot.

There's a bookstore there where I found a few vintage movie posters from the 60's and 70's (A Clockwork Orange, Midnight Cowboy, From Russia With Love). It broke the bank though.
