I'm stunned that The Spirit does not even appear a single time on the longlist.

Yeah, The Spirit was terrible. Worst film I've seen in theaters since Crap In The Hat.

As for Rambo, that movie was awesome. Fuck them and their annual grudges.

God, I hate the razzies. They are so useless and go after the famous and over-exposed at the expense of things that actually suck.

Yes. If they went for films like Juno...

razzies have become overly predictable. They've lost their fun years ago

Every "Worst Picture" nominee on the longlist deserves to be there (even the wretched Speed Racer, which is overrated as hell on these boards) except for High School Musical 3, which isn't even close to being one of the year's worst and is actually quite entertaining for what it is

I'm done arguing the Juno point. Forever, There's no point. Suffice to say, had it been released in 2008, it'd be in slot one or two on my best-of list.

The character assassination of poor Speed Racer continues. Never in my life have I seen so many review the concept, not the film itself.

And as pointed out above me, they obviously didn't watch High School Musical 3. That's why these people suck; save the vitriol for something that deserves it, something with real pretentions.

HSM3 can at least be argued to be poisonous. Like Juno made teen pregnancy cool again rather something to force a girl into being shunned and drop out and clotheshanger-abortion herself like it should be, it makes pre-teens think high school is a fun and magical place where they'll meet a nice clean boy like Zac Efron who won't take advantage of them.

Preposterous. It's children's entertainment. Everything is shiny in kids' entertainment. It's no less ridiculous than suggesting The Lion King is poisonous because kids will think Lions are friendly and won't eat you.

Do we all just reject optimism as a rule? Is this where Speed Racer incurred everyone's wrath? The beauty in Juno was was its heroine coming out of the very difficult, unfortunate experience wiser and more mature but still the same girl. It didn't have to stop her life dead in its tracks. While it obviously can't can't work that way for everyone in that situation, it was a wonderful, hopeful message and a remarkably compassionate film. I guess what it needed was a dude with a painted face waxing philosophical about anarchy and shoving pencils in guys' eyes.

Dude, turn your sarcasm-meter back on. Even if I hated Juno and probably wouldn't be able to sit through HSM3, I think what I said was so blatantly absurd the Onion would reject it.

Though if you do want a serious reason why I hate Juno, just check out Diablo Cody's TV appearances. If she was showing Juno to actually be unbearable for most of the runtime, my opinion would be somewhat different, but it's clear she's basically Juno herself with infinitely better luck and an even more grating personality.

Lions = not friendly, slightly hungry. You saved me heaps of embarrassment and agony.

In other news, I sure wish The Happening wasn't on there. And the two "funny" nominees (Sly and his ego, Pacino and his hair) aren't even that funny. They're smile-worthy at best.

These guys exist purely for press purposes, so I would be surprised if they left HSM3 off the list (which would get them the most coverage).
