Re: Oscar Nominations Or Obama Inauguration? obviously, Obama's inauguration is a more important and historic event than the Oscar nominees... but with the Oscar noms, we don't yet know exactly what's gonna happen, whereas with Obama's inauguration, we do.

And since I still haven't seen a number of the movies that will score nominations on Thursday (including the frontrunner, Slumdog, which still hasn't opened here), I'm not all that passionate about the race this year. The only things I really care that much about are The Dark Knight/WALL-E in Best Picture and Richard Jenkins in Best Actor. I'm crossing my fingers for all three, but I'd be happy with two of 'em.
