 Rank Hosts this decade
1. Steve Martin- My favorite, I still remember some of his awesome jokes 2. Billy Crystal- The safe choice for a great academy awards, back in 04, showed he can still be hysterical. 3. Jon Stewart- Very good and funny, has potential for more. 4. Ellen Degeneres- Good but not great- a little too safe and cheesy at times 5. Chris Rock- Good for him, but not really the right platform 6. Whoopie Goldberg- Past her prime, hopefully doesnt do it again
If any of these return, Martin and Crystal would be welcomed, as would Stewart. For newcomers I would love:
Robin Williams (Why not, they got 2/3 comic relief team, and Williams is still hysterical) Conan O'Brien (Never saw him do the Emmy's but I think he has experience) Jim Carrey- Could be a right blend of humor, drama, and song and dance.

Whoopie Goldberg Still though, he did one of best things I ever saw at the Globes, I think Renee Zellweger won Supporting actress and was in the bathroom, so he jumped up and just joked for a little bit until she came out. Truly one of the nicest gestures I ever saw. He's someone that knows how to hit a joke even if he has to make it up on the spot.

 Re: Rank Hosts this decade
1. Jon Stewart (Only one that made me laugh pretty much everytime he was on. Sharp and witty. Didn't mind taking a few jabs, and none of them were hurtful. But who wants hurtful anyway? Jabs can be funny without the hurt!)
2. Steve Martin (I remember really liking his efforts as host. Moreso than 3-6.)
3. Chris Rock (If given a 2nd vote of confidence, he could be the top host of the decade. With one year left, I doubt he'll get it.)
4. Ellen DeGeneres (Another safe choice, IMO. She provides good jokes and running commentary throughout, but nothing outstanding. Call me crazy, but I'd like a little "outstanding" with my Oscar hosts.)
5. Billy Crystal (He's good. He's been great. Definitely a safe choice for Oscar night to provide laughs. I don't think he's particularily original, outside of the song and dance numbers, but he was probably better in the 90s.)
6. Whoopi Goldberg (She's okay, but for the biggest night of the year in movies? Not so much.)

 Re: Rank Hosts this decade
Anyone want to take a stab at who will host next year? Conan O'Brien's name has been thrown around, and leading in to his presumed takeover of The Tonight Show the following September, he could be the ideal choice. Jon Stewart coming back would be nice, but I say they'll keep mixing it up.
My guess: Ellen DeGeneres. The awards shows love her. I say she'll get the spot for the second time.

I guess I'm the only one who thinks that Jon Stewart is just awful as the host.
I'd like to see Chris Rock return.

I'd like to see Chris Rock return. I din't watch the whole show but when I was watching, I was cringing at some of his jokes. I thought some were stupid or un-funny and wondering how much he really got from the writers coming back. Anyway, here's to another Steve Martin return.

I bet they bring Stewart back at least one more time, and I'd be happy to see it.

This was the same show where Cher wore her infamous witch mohawk outfit.

 Re: Rank Hosts this decade
1. Billy Crystal - classic. almost perfect but i'd rather not see him do it ever again. 2. Whoopi Goldberg - i thought her last run was fanastic and I think i'm the only one too. 3. Ellen Degeneres - funny enjoyable very family friendly 4. Steve Martin - classy and subtle with the jokes 5. Chris Rock - good humor something different but didn't push it much 6. Jon Stewart - terrible. i hate his show/jokes and the inability to keep a str8 face
For newcomers possibilities:
Robin Williams - he's funny and i would like it Conan O'Brien - NO NO NO Jim Carrey - why hasn't he done this yet??? Rosie O - I'd love to see it Hugh Jackman - have you seen his job during the Tony's? he's A-M-A-Z-I-N-G Arsenio - is he past any consideration? he's chris rock lite.
