Post My vote would be Blood Over Country.
I am not much of an Oscar watcher but I must put in my vote for Blood, over the expected winner, No Country, in a tight race for the best movie of the year.

I feel that Blood should win the Oscar for Best Picture over No Country but it won't only cause the ladies vote for Javier Bardem usually which is reserved for best supporting actress. I know that Javier Bardem was great in his movie but to me, Daniel Day Lewis was equally great in his movie so that is a push for me. Therefore with that being equal, I give my vote to the Best Picture of the Year to Blood over No Country in a very tight race.

I just wanted to give some love to Blood before its probable loss on Oscar night.

Yes the ladies or the women's room vote, like the Marisa Tomei past win and others, with those who can't evaluate properly. They get a sexy vibe from Javier Bardem's killer so that will and is making the difference in pushing Country for best picture.

I know I have read a number of articles and they are mentioning or pushing Javier Bardem for his on-screen sexiness.

Well, sure, obviously No Country is gonna win because of Javier Bardem's hotness. That's why it swept all the guilds and critics awards so far, because of all the horny critics of course!

Horny and/or stupid, yes.

I said it would win in a tight race. But are you telling me that no Oscar voter will be voting for No Country only because of Javier and not properly evaluating all of the best picture movies fully. He will get more single votes than Daniel Day for an equaling great or probably even alittle better performance. That is what has been and is pushing No Country over the top.

All in all, Blood is a better all-around picture and more deserving of the Oscar.

All you basde this on are your personal speculations.

I loved Blood, not sure whether I liked it more than No Country or not.

Point is, that a movie winning Best Picture because of the horny female votes is pretty much the most "out there" argument if I ever heard one.

Fact is that it is possible that someone will vote for No Country only because of Bardem, but that sure as hell is not because of his, uhh, hot looks.

and for example, Marisa Tomei won on pure talent for her acting performance and no horny perverted Oscar voters, voted for her cause they were turned on by her sexy role.

I think it happens and I may be wrong.

Anyway, I am not too sad that No Country will win but I just think that Blood is deserving and it would have been nice if it was getting a share of the picture awards.

If it really was on the looks, do you think Charlize Theron would have won for Monster?

Or Forest Whitaker for The Last King of Scotland? Did the ladies find him hotter than, say, DiCaprio or Ryan Gosling?

I, of course, are only talking about some wins.

Now as I stated above I think Javier was great and the movie was great but there is that extra factor that is pushing No Country.

Also, I just googled Javier Bardem sexy and there are lots of stories. Maybe you aren't in touch but I have seen it. Even the top one on the board came from People Magazine which is one the the biggest magazine rags that are produced in the US and since they are in every supermarket check-out stand, anyone who goes to a supermarket in America sees the headlines, JAVIER BARDEM - Sexiest Man Alive.

Don't you think that could influence people and where did that come from, many people are thinking it.

The Sexiest Men Alive - JAVIER BARDEM - Sexiest Man Alive, Actor Class ...
"It just makes me laugh," says Bardem, 38, who's starring in Love ... Check out some of the sexy men (Patrick! Brad!) who made PEOPLE's list. JAVIER BARDEM ...

There Will Be Blood does deserve to win over No Country for Old Men, but it won't. Blood is a more hateful movie (which makes it a tougher pick for much of the conservative Academy to vote for) and No Country swept the guilds.

The main reason why NCFOM is heading on its way to a win is because it's the only movie this season that ever made good on its potential to be a frontrunner. Fellow nominee Atonement didn't (even though it's the thing voters used to go nuts over), Sweeney Todd saw its buzz die off rather quickly, Charlie Wilson's War wasn't even in the running once the first reviews came out, and There Will Be Blood came out too late in the game to take off. And of course, it doesn't hurt that the wealth hasn't exactly been shared this awards season.

OK, I agree on the losing votes for the more hateful. But I guess that is kindof what I am talking about, there are pluses and misses that go past what we see from the movie on the screen.

No Country's gonna win because of its universal adoration, its need-to-win-an-Oscar directors, and it's memorably unconventional ending -- not because of the sexiness of its characters. If anything, men enjoyed Bardem's performance more than women, as they'd more likely go "That guy was fuckin' BAD-ASS!" than they would.

There Will Be Blood is, in my opinion, the deserved winner, but it ain't gonna win. I'd say NCFOM has like a 90% shot at winning, with like 8% going to TWBB, 1% to Juno, and 1% between Atonement and MC.

What was the unconvertional ending? Just confirming it was Tommy Lee Jones' speech.

it was unconventional in the sense that:
Spoiler: show
The main character was killed off-screen, the bad guy as far as we know didn't die while the protagonist did, this intense thriller ended with a metaphorical speech, and it leaves you unsure how things turned out.
