Historically, CAS matches with Oscar Best Sound nominees very well. Here are last year's nominees:
The Last Samurai
Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
Master and Commander: Far Side of the World
Pirates of the Carribean
Seabiscuit
All 5 went on to get the Best Sound nominations.

Man, I can't stress enough how much Finding Neverland DOES NOT deserve these technical nominations.
Nice to see the Aviator of course. Now, the sound in that movie actually made me sit up and take notice it was used so well (right, then left engine start-up, crash scene, flashbulbs at the premiere to name a few instances).

I do not understand why Finding Neverland is here.

Some strange choices here. Finding Neverland and Ray haven't been that impressive with their sound...

What the hell is Finding Neverland doing there over, say, The Incredibles or Collateral or even Day After Tomorrow?

Collateral definitely deserves a nom here.
