I was just wondering, what do you think would be best for Jennifer Hudson to do post Oscar, if she wins it?

She'll would likely be compared to this performance for the rest of her career if she stayed in acting.

She did well on AI, but not that well to be able to be a big commercial success on the pop charts imo. I know she has a record contract and album coming, but not so sure how popular she'll be on music charts.

She should likely do Broadway after this. As they are building her up movie wise, that it would be very difficult to choose a role after this one, without getting huge expectations pegged on her.

What do you think she should do?

To tell the truth I think it would almost be better for her career to lose. She's already getting enough hype to be famous, but if she wins, where can she go from there? It'd almost be better to get the nom and get people loving you, then build on it.

But her performance was so amazing I really hope she does win.

Jennifer Hudson was fantastic and deserves to win. She delivered not only the year's best supporting performance, but the second best performance of the year, period (second only to Clive Owen's stunning turn in Children Of Men). I'll be very disappointed if the Oscars choose to ignore her powerhouse performance.

Music? Films? She signed with Clive Davis a few weeks ago. An Oscar winning black actress/singer... people will be falling over themselves to cast her in anything from dramas to urban-based-romantic comedies for years.


Nominees are sometimes forgotten, but people usually remember if you win the statue.
