Interesting. Diversity is good.
And best of all: No Dreamgirls

A much needed boost for Little Children - good to see it popping up more and more.

At this point I think that Pan's Labyrinth is winning Best Foreign Film.

The first awards group to give lots of love to Little Children. Greengrass wins another Best Director award, too.

Peace,
Mike.

I have to say, it's a bit disappointing that it looks like the only actor who can compete with Whitaker (i.e. beat Whitaker in the Best Actor category) is Cohen. So far only Cohen and Whitaker have won all the critics awards. What about Gosling or O'Toole or heck, even DiCaprio?? Actually, yeah, this is kind of annoying.

Peace,
Mike.

I think that Venus, like Children of Men, is suffering right now due to so few people having actually seen it. That and O'Toole can be forgotten with these awards and he's still a very strong contender for an Oscar nomination.

Somewhat surprised since this is San Francisco.

I guess I'm happy about Borat.

If Adriana Barraza is who I think she is, that's a shitty win. Rinko Kikuchi owned that film.

The nanny. :shades:

Hmm, interesting set of winners. Little Children is still dead, IMO. Except for an acting nod or two and a screenplay nod.

So, is Cohen now a serious contender for the Oscar? At least for a nom?

I really like how all these critics awards thus far, seem to be really spreading around the love.

This may be the first year where there is absolutely no clear front-runner in the race (except if you count the campaign Dreamgirls has been running since last December).

I'm surprised that SF will award United 93 since SF has a lot of people similar to Loyal in believing the United 93 crash to be part of a government conspiracy.

I still think that if O'Toole gets on the ballot, even with Whitaker taking the precursors, he'd be the favorite... People are going to look at his name and have a hard time voting against him, nobody wants him to lose again.

It'll be close though.

:hahaha: Yay for Little Children. I love how the awards this year are turning quite unpredictable, well, except Best Actress.
