Post What wins do you really NOT want to happen?
Well the title of the thread is pretty self-explanatory and I had a similar one last year too.

What wins would you be upset over at the Oscar night?

Here's how it looks for me:

- I really don't want Paul Giamatti winning for Cinderella Man. I have seen two other nominees in the category (Dillon and Hurt) and both were better and this performance is by far not Giamatti's best. I am sure that Clooney and Gyllenhaal weren't worse either

- I would not be happy about Wallace & Gromit taking the Best Animated Picture award home (even though I am very sure it will anyway). I feel that Corpse Bride is more deserving and if Howl's Moving Castle is anywhere close other Miyazaki's films, it is more deserving as well.

- I definitely don't want to see The Chronicles of Narnia winning anything

I really don't want Reese Witherspoon to win Best Actress.

I really don't want Brokeback Mountain to win Best Picture.

I also really don't want Crash to win anything. Paul Haggis' work shouldn't be encouraged.

I don't want Reese to win, either. I'm kind of pulling more for Felicity Huffman.

I don't want Rachel Weisz to win. I'm pulling for Michelle Williams.

I don't really want PS Hoffman to win either. I'd rather Heath Ledger or Joaquin Phoenix to take it. Since Heath is the only one who probably has a chance of beating him, I'm praying he is somehow able to pull it off.

I REALLY don't want Crash to pull a BP win.
I REALLY don't want Paul G. or Cinderalla Man to win a single thing.

Otherwise,
I'd prefer Huffman beating Witherspoon
I'd prefer Ledger beating Hoffman (barely)
I'd prefer Williams beating Weisz.
I'd prefer Munich winning BP over the rest.
I'd prefer Jake G winning over Paul G.

I don't want Reese Witherspoon to win. If that happens, I'll be pretty set for the evening.

I don't want Rachel Weisz to win (I really want Williams, but I'd be pretty psyched if Adams pulls it off)

I don't want Chronicles of Narnia to win anything (it's box office success is enough ;) )

I don't want Crash to win anything outside its locks (screenplay and some would argue, Song)

And I actually don't favor anyone in the BSActor race to win, but of course, wanting BBM to do th best it can, I guess I'll be rooting for Gyllenhaal.

I would hope to god there would be no Keener or Hurt wins. I also hope that Brokeback Mountain does not win for best picture, because Munich is better in every way.

Wasn't that your favorite movie of the year? Heh. I think the Crash-haters peer pressure works like against no other movie in the recent years.

Oh and after having seen Syriana today, I am even more certain I don't want Paul Giamatti to win. Clooney, Hurt and Dillon were both better.

Man, the Best Supporting Actor category this year is rather weak. The only one who deserved the nom of those nominated is Matt Dillon (I haven't seen Brokeback Mountain yet, though). Ed Harris should have been nominated for AHOV instead of Hurt and Val Kilmer was more than snubbed for Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.

I really don't want Narnia to win anything
I really don't want George Clooney to win Best Supporting Actor (because it means he will be snubbed for Good Night, and Good Luck - the film he deserves to win for by far).

PEACE, Mike.

Narnia shouldn't win anything.

And anything that is nominated in the same category as King Kong shouldn't win.

Capote for anything, anything at all, other than Best Actor, which I'm fine with.

I don't want Corpse Bride to win. I prefer substance over style, and so I really want Wallace and Gromit to take the Oscar.

I don't want that Palestinian film to win. Palestine isn't a country!

Forgot about Capote...

I know there's no way, but if Catherine Keener won supporting actress I'd go ballistic.

I have it as my best of the year. My favorite of the year is Family Stone.
In my list Crsh, Munich, and BBM are so close that I wouldn't declaring any of them Best of the Year.

I'm rooting for BBM for Best Picture
I don't think Paul Haggis deserves Best Director (lee and Clooney are above him in that)
I wouldn't mind a Dillon win but would rather see a higher BBM count.
I'd say it's my favorite to win Editing, but that means Munich will probably go away empty handed (although if it did win that one, it wouldn't deserve it because Crash's editing was better).

I'm torn for Best Song. I think I'd definitely prefer In the Deep over the Pimp one, but It's Hard out Here for a Pimp is so essential to the movie also is the basis for one of my favorite scenes of the year that I feel rewarding it would reward the film, so I'd be happy either way.

I don't want anything to win over King Kong...

I don't want anything to win over Clooney...

I don't want anything to win over Munich...

I don't want Paul Haggis to make it through the night alive...

Ah, I see, that explains something.

Actually, it is a bit similar for me, just that Crash is my #5/#6 of the year. Funnily, though, I definitely think Munich deserves Best Editing over Crash. IMO, it had the best editing of the year.

I am rooting for Dillon as Best Sup. Actor. I have seen all of them except for Gyllenhaal and none really impressed me except for Dillon.

Director and Picture...I think Munich is better (the only other BP nominee I have seen so far), but I wouldn't mind Crash winning either.

As for the song, I am torn. It's Hard out Here for a Pimp and In the Deep are both great, but as you said, the former really captures the movie and I would like it to get recognition.
