I think you are saying that like Naomi Watts in King Kong.

Reese, no wait Keira, Keira, no wait Reese > ???????????????????
think this will stay with Reese but it seems to be only a 2 way race especially with the great reviews from both Walk the Line and Pride and Prejudice.

Keira Knightley's performance in P&P blows away Reese's performance in WTL, although both are good.

I think the range of Reese's performance plus the singing brings her to the front with Keira.

It's definitely turning into a 2 horse race so to speak, where KJ is concerned. This is also fairly likely when it comes to the real thing, especially if Knightley gets her deserved nomination as Witherspoon is a lock to be nominated.

Kiera Knightly is going to have to have a damn good stroke of luck to get a nomination. The snoobery of the Oscars means that young, pretty actresses are rarely considered.
I expect Reese Witherspoon to lift it.
Which is too bad because Knightly deserves it.

KK means Keira Knightley
Kongs only going to get technical noms, like PJ would get best director and/or best pick for for a movie about an Ape

Actually, they love gals in their 20's for Best Actress. Especially in older ceremonies, many seasoned actresses have won Oscars when they were 22, 23... and a lot in their film debuts as well.

Yeah, Gwyneth Paltrow, Hilary Swank, Halle Berry, Nicole Kidman, Angelina Jolie, Renee Zellweger, Charlize Theron.....Oscar loves fine young things.

Why aren't more people considering this? She really could be this year's Hilary Swank.....an unexpected nominee (at least early in the year) that comes in at the last minute and wins.

Kong isn't Oscar fodder since it essentially looks like an action film.

Reese gave my favorite leading actress performance so far this year, although Joan Allen is a close second.
I'm hopefully seeing Pride and Prejudice this weekend, so we'll see how Knightley is.

Reese Witherspoon is my favorite performance of the year, and it's unlikely that she'll be topped, as her performance was at another level.

Have you seen P&P because Knightley was fantastic in it?

Not yet. I'm sure she's good, but Reese was just one of those rare performances that doesn't come along very often. I hope to see P&P within a few weeks.
