I don't think this is a precurs or to what is about to come. Babel will not win best picture......please. The Globes exist to predict the Academy's own choices. The Departed didn't win Best Pic because their voters were hearing the same thing as others, i.e., that amongst AMPAS members The Departed was not the frontrunner or even their second or third choice to win Best Picture.
Agreed. The Globes are little more than a glorified Kris Tapley's InContention.com. In fact, aren't the HFPA made up of about three blokes.
Disappointed that Children of Men didn't win through some sort of last minute write-in. Looks like an Oscar BP win will have to make do (crosses fingers).
Does anyone have any links to YouTube/Google video clips of the awards ceremony? It's not been shown over here yet, and I have no idea where to even start looking.

I never liked the Golden Globes because of the fact that they do the whole best picture thing twice. I know it recognizes 10 films in all, but I'd rather have one category duke it out, even if there were 8-10 nods for best picture.
Also, anyone else find funny that Borat (Cohen) and crazy girl from Wedding Crashers (Fisher) are a couple? We know Cohen stayed in character quite a bit, so imagine if she stayed in character..........

If I were Cohen, I wouldn't mind if she stayed in character
On another note, I feel kind of bad for The Departed. Only picked up Best Director. I really hope MS can get a best picture at the Oscar's but it doesn't look like that will happen. My favorite of the year by far.

Well, I got Dreamgirls' wins right, Actor and Actress (both Comedy/Musical and Drama! woot! ), Picture (Drama), Director, Foreign Film and I predicted a small shocker in Song, but I thought Bobby's "Never Gonna Break My Faith" would be the one... I kinda like that song - don't want to use the other "L" word for now

Just wanted to pop in quickly and say that I find Babel's win simply laughable given all the circumstances.
But at least Sacha Baron Cohen and Scorsese won.
