127 Hours won't be an Oscar-winning film.

Hooper seems so nice. Wish I enjoyed his film more.

There's not even an ounce of suspense anymore as to what will win Best Picture.

Well there goes the suspense.

Gunslinger wrote: Hooper seems so nice. Wish I enjoyed his film more. I agree. I think he seems like a nice guy, I just didn't like THE KING'S SPEECH and his directing was not even close to being the best of the year.

Bale gave Oscar hopefuls with "difficult" reputations hope. Fincher's loss just deflated their balloon again.

 Re: Oscar Chat Live!
I haven't seen the King's speech but it just seems like the type of period drama crap that Oscars like, like Shakespeare in Love. Well, it won't be the first time a better film got beat out.

 Re: Oscar Chat Live!
They could have chosen a more powerful clip for Michelle Williams. The one they chose actually would've been better for Ryan Gosling.

Indeed. I s'pose I should've said, "Wish I loved his film more." It's a fine, good, solid picture, but not Oscar-worthy. Especially when he beat one of my favorite directors of all-time, David O. Russell. I know you're trying to twist this into a whole 'I'm such a flip-flopper' type deal, which is fine, but I don't think it really works this time.

I felt the exact same way and was just coming here to post that. Very disappointed with the clip they chose for her. Michelle looks so gorgeous and elegant tonight.

Aww, way to cut out right before Eisenberg's best, funniest line in the entire movie.

So sexy. She easily had the worst clip. Everyone else's clip was either their best moment or one of them.

Wasn't trying to make you look like a flip-flopper david, was trying to make it look like you arbitrarily give out good grades for movies you don't like because your incapable of criticizing something that is well-regarded.

There were a number of good ones they could have chosen for her and they picked this. Very disappointing.

But I do like it. I think it's very solidly in that B/B+ range. Yeah, I'm a little annoyed by its Oscar glory, which kind of makes me crabby about it, but I still like the film.

I get where he's coming from. He enjoyed the movie a good amount but the hype has brought it down for him. It happens. I really liked Crash and gave it something like a B+/ A- and once it won Best Picture over Brokeback I despised it .

The way they cut that montage pretty much already announced the winner...
