I swear, if Estevez take it over Scorsese and Almodovar, than I'm doing a D3 DVD giveaway!

HAHA!

Sad thing is, Estevez will get a good amount of votes, if only for the fact that he's Marty Sheen's son, and just about every major player in Hollywood shows up in at least one frame of Bobby.

It has to be Marty or Pedro. The Academy's screwed up before, but snubbing these two would be about the worst thing they've ever done.

Estevez will not be getting nominated for Best Director. Directors will look down on his unspectacular directorial job for Bobby, and I don't get the impression that he was a respectable enough person in Hollywood that they'd vote him through based on popularity. On the other hand, it still has a shot in Best Picture, since actors get to vote in that category.

Nahhhhh. That Christmas Day release isn't nice for it. The Globe noms are th 14th I believe, nearly 2 weeks before it even hits theaters.

Wouldn't it be the fourth time?

Well yes... (Redford, Costner, Eastwood. Estevez would be 4th). But I guess they meant that it will be his third time losing to a first-time nominee actor turned director.

It would be even funnier if De Niro was the one who kept Marty from winning.

That acceptance speech would be the strangest and most painful thing to watch at the Oscars, ever.
