If anbyone knows German, just wants to read the names or cares to use Google Translate, here's my 6,000-words analysis on the four acting categoires: http://www.filmfutter.com/oscars-2015-vorschau-teil-2/

Both Sicario and Straight Outta Compton surprised with their guild support, but I think only one is getting in for BP. I just can't decide which one.

I'll be pretty bitchy tomorrow if Mad Max: Fury Road doesn't hit double digit nominations.

I'm getting so many The Dark Knight vibes on Mad Max. I'm pretty sure you were one of its heaviest supporters in 2009 before noms came out. I feel like the same disappointment may come tomorrow. It might be one of those "Well, it'll win the most awards, so that's something!" situations, so they'll leave it off the two big ones. BD at least, unless BP is reduced.

A repeat of that chilly January morning in 2009 would suck.

Dave Karger predicts 3 acting noms for Spotlight. http://www.goldderby.com/Dave%20Karger/mypredictions/I really hope he's right but that seems...incredibly ambitious.

That's a Hail Mary that could pay off and is conceivably the only way Spotlight wins BP. Three though, ooof.

On the flip side of things, I think a nod for Charlize Theron tomorrow would indicate mega support and better odds on Oscar Night. Without that surprise nom, it'll likely fall out of contention for anything major (barring any snubs tomorrow in the big two).

I am tempted to predict Theron, mainly because I'm insane.

Slumdog Millionaire, Milk, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Frost/Nixon and The Reader was the worst BP lineup

Spotlight, Big Short, Carol, Revenant, Brooklyn, Trumbo and Room will be the nominations. I think that lineup will manage to upset just about everyone.

 Re: Oscar Nominations Anticipation/Bitching/Celebrating Thre
I would love a BP nomination for Room. It's sad to see that its buzz disappeared almost entirely after the Globe nomination appeared to give it a huge shot in the arm.
I'm also getting the feeling that Mad Max may not make as much of a dent as the precursors suggest. The notion of a sequel in a franchise they've never honored scoring double digit nominations still sounds too good to be true, but I'm rooting hard for it.

I really hope MM doesn't score big. I still don't get it. I don't think I've ever found anything as overrated as MM.

Yeah Im not a big fan of MM:FR either. Though appears thats a minority opinion. Online at least. Anecdotally among friends it isnt regarded as anything spectacular.

 Re: Oscar Nominations Anticipation/Bitching/Celebrating Thre
I noticed a lot of people aren't crazy about it. I had a screening at my house on Sunday before the Globes. I have an 80 inch 3D television, great speaker setup, so I think its an ideal viewing experience outside of seeing it in a theatre. Both people who watched it for the first time liked it well enough but weren't insane about it.

 Re: Oscar Nominations Anticipation/Bitching/Celebrating Thre
Yes thats what im seeing (and feeling) - its good but not as great as expected perhaps. I didnt see it in a theatre which I suspect lessens the impact somewhat.
But seeing a film like this in the running for a BP nom is refreshing so i can never root against it.
