Bridge of Spies reviews are pretty legit (92%, 7.9/10 RT, 8.1 with 5 100s on MC)

Yeah, it is probably getting in, winning nothing.

Now that they made an Animated Feature category, most of Hollywood is glad to send the "cartoons" there to that slum no matter how well-made the films are.

Steve Jobs seems like it is losing serious steam. I still think it will be nominated, but there is 0% chance for a win. Hopefully the film's good but not great reception doesn't hurt Fassbender's chances at Best Actor.

Looking like a weak year. Jobs could still win just based on that.

Well, the Foreign Language category didn't stop for a few foreign language films being nominated even with only five slots available.

I'm going to predict that Star Wars does indeed get nominated, regardless of how many pictures get in.

We should get 10 films nominated in this category this year it seems.

I wonder what will win Best Picture this year. I kind of think Room, Spotlight, or Carol will be the ones to beat.

Spotlight probably. Room will get nominated, but I still can't see it winning, though as I don't think Blanchett will win a third Oscar so fast, Larson is the current frontrunner for actress.

I also really think The Martian will be nominated. The Danish Girl looks less likely now

1. Spotlight
2. The Revenant
3. Steve Jobs
4. Inside Out
5. Brooklyn
6. Joy
7. Bridge of Spies
8. Room
9. Carol
10. The Martian

Spotlight seems like a logical choice for a Best Picture frontrunner at this point, but it's still early. Joy and The Revenant are huge wild cards.

Early rumors are that The Big Short is very, very good.

Brooklyn's reviews are incredibly strong right now. I have to think it's making the lineup at this rate.

Room - 96%, 8.4/10, 85 MC, 11 100s
Brooklyn - 99%, 8.6/10 88 MC, 9 100s
Spotlight - 96%, 8.8/10, 90 MC, 12 100s

I believe Room and Brooklyn will be 2 of the biggest players in the race. Not only are the reviews excellent but after seeing the films a month ago they are emotional, Oscar-friendly films in my opinion. To me they could have 80% RT and I would still be predicting them to do well with the Academy. With elite reviews from critics they're even stronger.

With Spotlight I am concerned that it is Zero Dark Thirty 2. A film the critics are far more engrossed with than the academy.

Brooklyn definitely seems very award friendly. The kind of movie the Academy will eat up.

Definitely enjoying the fact that there isn't a clear front-runner yet.

To me Spotlight looks like Zodiac. I just have a very hard time seeing it win big Oscars. It doesn't look like an award-friendly film at all. It reminds me of Se7en.

I think Inside Out has a chance. Spotlight seems too small to be a BP winner, as does Room. Carols Buzz is mostly for it's actresses, while Steve Jobs is already an afterthought. The Revenant could be great, but I can't imagine Innaritu will win twice in a row. Bridge of Spies feels like too minor Spielberg to win. Joy I can't imagine will win if his last two films didn't.

Creed is not getting nominated for Best Picture. Absolutely no chance. It might break out at the box office and it's going to get good reviews, but Oscars? Nope.

And zwackerm, Inside Out has no chance of winning Best Picture. If it gets nominated, that will be its reward.
