Yes to both. I think he's awesome, but unfortunately I don't decide who hosts the Oscars. And with Brett Ratner producing, it's gonna be one or all of the stars of "Tower Heist".

If Ratner is going to use some Tower Heist cast, I think it'd be kinda cool to have Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson host the Oscars. You'd have a winning combo rather than the random Baldwin/Martin pair-up, plus they've both consistently been funny while occasionally fitting in a prestige pic or two.

And there's always the outside chance Wilson will attempt suicide on stage! I mean, once a suicide attempter, always a suicide attempter. Ain't that what they say? I feel like they do.

Looks like Eddie Murphy might be the one to do it, a perfect choice, now if only he's given his 1980s balls he would rule it all.

I'm kind of okay, kind of not. Okay with the potential, not with the knowledge he's probably not going to go for the edgy laughs, just playful pandering as always. If I get playful pandering, I want it from a Billy Crystal or a Steve Martin.

I kind of feel like Eddie Murphy has done his best to bury the 80s Eddie Murphy. If anyone doesn't want that Eddie Murphy back, it's Eddie Murphy.

I love the decision for Murphy to host. Finally, we get back to a funny movie star hosting the darn thing. Nothing against Jackman, but for some reason he didn't perform as well as I thought he was going to. Never was a big fan of Martin or Baldwin or any of the other tv hosts doing it, so I think this is refreshing and it can only be leagues better than last year.

All things considered, I approve. And this will go a long way for reviving his career... if it's good. But he's at the point in his career where he has nothing to lose. He's a terrible movie draw. His biggest films in the last ten years are where he voices a donkey. Yeah, Norbit made $90 million, and he scored an Oscar nod for Dreamgirls, but neither has really given him a push in his career.

Short of Conan O'Brien or Ricky Gervais (neither of which would happen anyway), this is a far better choice than a dated performer (Billy Crystal), an inexperienced duo (Franco and Hathaway), or a Tony Award host (Hugh Jackman).

Actually Dreamgirls probably would have pushed his career had Norbit not come along (even though Norbit was a success). Such irony.
