What, they'll pick the Village over AVP? I hope they pick AVP, because The Village was a good movie, but I doubt it.

While not a hu´ge AvP fan, I still would say that The Village was much worse than Paul Anderson's flick.

Oh and Alexander looks like a lock for a Worst Picture nom

You know,i would not be suprised if the razzies gave a lot of nominations to TPOTC just so it can be contreversial and they get a lot of publicity.

Same can be said for Farenheit 9/11. They could nominate just because Bush won, so it really didn't have it's desired effect. Village, Catwoman, Surviving Christmas, Superbabies, and Alexander will be the Worst Picture nominees, with maybe Van Helsing or The Day After Tomorrow as wildcards. They might give Chucky a worst actor nominee, just for the hell of it.

your kidding when you say Village right?

No, it was a horrid script, that didn't deserv the excellent acting of Bryce Dallas Howard and Joquian Phoenix.

Can't help, but agree. Even though I didn't particulary appreciated Joaquin Phoenix in this movie (his by far best performance so far was in Gladiator), I have to admit that Bryce Dallas Howard was amazing. The rest of the movie was plain bad.

I really don't think The Village was a horrible movie.... far from it.
It was a great story but interrupted by the confusion and adamant attitude from M. Night for it to be a horror flick. He ruined a perfectly great story.... if he had expanded on what he originally had and marketed the film correctly, I think it would have been great and critics would have liked his little stretch from the usual genre.
However, the movie just came out as a mess.... it wasn't toally horrible, it had some nice scenes, some great acting, and I give it points for its potentially awesome story... Nowhere near the top of my list, but it's not at the bottom either.

Most of the mainstream audience's problem was the false advertising. If he had just stuck with a mysterious and bit suspenseful drama, instead of trying to market it as a horror flick.... it would not have had the backlash it recieved.

I think Alexander took the piss out of The Village getting a nominataion.

I would put You Got Served! in it's place.

I think there will be at least one $100+ million grosser among the nominees, it has always been like that and The Village seems as the most likely candidate. If you nominate You Got Served, Catwoman, Baby Geniuses 2 and Surviving Christmas as well as Alexander, then you'd have 5 movies which all made under $50 million. That would just not be spectacular enough for the Razzies.

Just realized Baby Geniuses 2: Super Babies has taken over the No. 1 spot in IMDb's bottom 100 list. Films from 2004 are represented well in the list. You Got Served is at No. 13 (1.8), Torque at No. 65 (3.0), Soul Plane at No. 75 (3.2), and Raise Your Voice at No. 94 (3.3). Catwoman has a score of 3.4 and is barely outside the bottom 100. Adding Alexander, what a year for Razzie.
