Nah, it'll still be a surprise, especially for those how have no idea who Stephen Frears is.

No offense guys, but trying to predict the oscars from here seems kind pointless, this thread and most others here. After all who saw SM from march? Who could've imagined that Kate Winslet would finally win for the reader and not get nominated for RR? Honestly this whole forum seems a little unnecessary until about september.

Exactly. If they don't know how to behave, and feel OK offending others, they get their ass kicked, so they'll think next time before opening their rotten mouths.

We actually had predictions for Frost/Nixon, Benjamin Button, Milk, and The Reader in some form or another. Once Slumdog hit Toronto, those predictions started. So yeah, lots of early predictions have come true over the past several years. I correctly predicted LMS would be nominated after seeing it during its limited run before the buzz exploded.

You absolutely are missing the point of this forum, which is just like a fantasy football league for Oscar predictions. It's not serious and neither are most of the people here until they go insane with love or hatred against Indian films in the fall. Re: R-rated Best Picture streak
Hopefully there won't be any Indian films this year. I'll pass along the message to Goldderby, Incontention, AD, and others to relax until October.
