wow. you really do have the worst taste on here. go hang with vestiges of Joe's past in the straight-to-dvd section. ha, I wouldn't be talking... a snack bad review is usually a great sign from where I'm sitting... you're that person for me That's about as burntastic as the time my mom spilled hot coffee on herself.

When snack reviews something I always think, "ok, good to know, I'll make a note of that, he's probably right about what he just wrote." Because snack is the cat's pajamas. Shack is the guy who writes things like Quote: Frost is the most finely crafted and has the best script
The Reader has the most meat and dissecting depth, and is thus the most ambitious, even if the execution needs work

Well, maybe on The Reader. Yeah, I know it's not just a film about the Holocaust, fuck off. But the most interesting parts of the film aren't related to the German-guilt thing much at all, and that theme, while admirable to finally tackle, isn't explored deeply.

 Re: Most predictable Oscars ever?
I haven't seen all five Best Adapted Screenplay nominees...but out of the four I have (missing Slumdog) - Frost/Nixon does have the best script. Not that it really says much.

 Re: Most predictable Oscars ever?
Perhaps, but the real best adapted scripts were either shut out or ineligible.

You know I saw the film yesterday and I actually liked several parts of it (dealing with the Holocaust, with guilt and all) - but I couldn't get over the fact how little sense the main plot hook made....I mean illiteracy? Really? As a reason and "excuse" for everything?
