It's impossible to love someone that loves that film. You missed my joke, dude. No, I got it. My thread is obvious. But I also never pass up a chance to call Crash fuckin' awful.

I think Milk and Frost/Nixon are way more vulnerable to getting snubbed at this point than Button.

Errr...I think Milk, Frost/Nixon, Button and TDK are pretty snubbable at the moment. Hopefully it's not Milk. Or maybe they'll all be snubbed! and Slumdog too!

TDK is pretty much the only snubbable one at this point. It missed SAG, the Globes, and BAFTA, and is a comic book movie... it's easily the weakest of the big 5.

Agreed... however, the only movies that seems capable of overtaking it missed all of the same things, and then some. At least, I don't see anything besides Wall-E sneaking in there. And even if something else had a remote chance, it would also have to overcome a SAG/DGA/PGA snub.

Benjamin Button does deserve the nomination, but this board doesn't deserve Benjamin Button.

It would be funnier if the person who made that video understood that Star Wars is just the same as King Arthur, and Pirates is Star Wars, they're all the same movie by his logic.

Re: Benjamin Button Does Not Deserve A Best Picture Nomination
You're confusing archetypes and Joseph Campbell with similarities between two films scripted by the same writer.

it's odd that the two movies are so similar yet feel so different. Maybe it's the director behind them, or the mood they go for, but despite how annoyingly similar they are in terms of characters, general plot, etc... they don't feel that alike to me.

Good stuff, though the only really-really funny parts were probably "He meets a weird black dude!" and "It's Exactly like Gump...except no AIDS".

One is amazing, while the other isn't. True that, Gump still amazes me.
