A sad end to the Sweeney club...

I'd love to jump onto the There Will Be Blood bandwagon, but I thought it was a bit boring. Juno's an average mainstream comedy made detestable by its blatant, cynical indie-by-numbers trappings. Atonement was a okay if a bit, well... meh.

Which, I guess, leaves the No Country For Old Men and Michael Clayton bandwagons...

So imagine Libs is a critic. She's one of the 80% that liked the film. She doesn't believe it deserves a BP nom = not all of the 80% that likes a film believes it should get a BP nom.

Loyal, you have the same feels towards musicals that I have towards animated films. Honestly no one will ever admit it, but Ratatouille was snubbed.

It's not BP nom worthy in my book, but its fundamental problem with the Academy lies in its way-too-bizarre style. They have trouble nominating musicals and they have trouble nominating extremely bloody movies. This was both. It was too much for the Academy to handle.

At least it managed Best Actor and some tech noms.

I got it the first time snack, lol. The thing is, while some people can be satisfied with a movie they really liked (but not in their top 5/even 10) is in the top 5, because we all know it's hard sometimes to have even ONE movie in your top 5 nominated for BP (at least for me ), others feel cheated. That's all. We're all kinda right in the end. The difference is... my definition of "good enough" implies accepting the fact that many of the movies in my personal top 10 will be completely ignored which means I'll be already happy if there's a really well made movie sneaking in instead of a cheap one

Certainly not for lack of quality, considering how awesome it was? Let's just relish its GG Best Picture win, shall we?
