Children of Men was robbed. More proof you can't win without conventionally beautiful imagery. Camera movement means nothing.

i'm pissed about the Children of Men cinematography loss. We should watch out for Pan's Labyrinth in Original Screenplay now.

No shocker in the visual effects category.

That was just a waste of an Oscar. Hudson will never get near acting again. It should have went to a actress who actually is going to stick around.

Christ, how much longer? We still have to hear three more songs, go through the list of the dead people who passed away this year, and at least seven more awards. On this pace the awards should be over by one in the morning. According to my DirecTV guide, they should end at 11:30, but I just don't think that's happening.

I thought it was going to either Babel or Pan's Labyrinth. With Babel, I'm not surprised because it seemed to be that one guitar and people love simplicity. It also doesn't surprise me, because I think they had to give Babel something, since I don't think it will be winning anything else.

Sunshine was easily the most deserving in that category.

The shadow things are awesome. An added bit of fun.

Easily the most laughable element to tonight's show - and the silhouettes. Either that or Eastwood's unexpected translation of Morricone's speech.

And wasn't it just last year they were trying to trim down the awards? Well that worked out well. It also didn't help that they chose to present the nominations out of their usual order.

And so much for those off screen "Thank you" cameras being a help. The way this is going, this should go over by about an hour.

I really think the awards need to be cut. Say the top 10, and leave some of the others to the tech side earlier in the day or week. This is way to long and dragggggging out!

Fuck people, it's a massive show that only occurs one night per year. Maybe we should just not let those nerds winning tech awards talk?

Yes it's a massive show, but when the people running it made a big deal about trying to cut it short last year, and then follow it up with unnecessary elements (Dancers, choirs, Seinfeld stand up act, Foreign Film tribute) and air the nominations out of order, is just stupid.

And :funny: @ Dreamgirls. Three nominations in one category is never a good thing.
