wow... so was this year the first time since 1956 that every one of the big 6 winners were from different movies?

By the way... this is an excellent job Maverikk. Extremely useful. Can't imagine how much work went into it.

Thank you, Raffiki.

I had some free time from work stuff because of my tooth situation, so I kept myself busy. Back to business now, so I haven't had time lately. I didn't realize how much work went into it, either, and it was quite a bit, but worth it to have this available to us, I think.

Glad you find it useful, too.

Great chart, though personally I already knew most of these as I own a book on it... ;)

Mav.

I caught a couple of errors in the Best Picture nominee section.

In 1955, the nominee was Picnic, not Hayward.
and in 1956, the nominee is Giant, not Grant.

I went ahead and fixed them.

Maverikk you are ridiculous. You do a lot for this site, we get it, if you get angry it is understandable if you stop updating the charts.

But to actually take them away? :hahaha: That is hilarious. I can't believe someone would take the effort to go to every one of the charts, and eliminate all the data. I would not believe that someone as aged as you could be such a baby. You got proven wrong in an argument, get over it! Jeez.

Ew, I can't believe I'm agreeing with Shack? :|

Seriously, it's almost childlike. "If you don't like it, I'll make EVERYONE suffer! How'd'ya like THAT, fucker?"

Well, I think Lecter saved this one (he said he saved a few of the charts, in case this happened), so if he has it, a mod can edit Mav's posts and paste it in so we can still use this thread.

If not... oh well.

You see, if you two kids weren't still at home getting your asses wiped by your mommas, and were actually out in the real world, you'd understand that nobody owes you anything that you haven't earned.

I certainly don't owe either of you anything, so stop crying like a bunch of whiney babies because you fucked it up for the rest. That's one to grow on!

We're not whining. We're laughing. :hahaha:

It's no big deal at all to me that the charts are gone, Lec has kept alive the general Contenders one, and as I already mentioned I already knew the stats in this thread as I own a book on it, and I frequently visit an Oscar history site in my spare time anyways.

If it's no big deal, then why even post with your comments in the first place?

Because its funny to watch you go ape shit for no reason every time someone proves you wrong.

Shack said it best: we're laughing.

Grow the hell up and stop calling everyone *else* the immature ones. You could have moved on ages ago, yet you persist in making a mockery of yourself.

And now you'll turn around with what you think is some witty remark about me and daddy's computer, and we'll continue laughing at you. Prove me wrong. Grow up and move on.

Go read the fucking thread, retard. I'm not the asshole who did nothing here but start trouble to the point where I had to create a new account and try to pretend I was somebody new so I could start more trouble.

Please get off the fucking soapbox. You of all people are nobody to lecture anyone on conduct, so get fucked.

:hahaha:

I took the time to tell several posters, including the entire administration, that I was opening a new account. But I'm sure you pride yourself in "outing me" like some civil servant, because I was clearly out to deceive people. :hahaha:

Yes, instead of being rude, I said "thanks" to three (xia and someone else said hello) people who noticed the "new" member. Way to distract from the topic. Feel free to ask Baba and Krem, who knew from day one exactly what was going on, as did quite a few others. Way to distract from the fact that a bunch of teenagers handed your ass to you on a silver plate.

First, anybody that would even blame me is a fucking retard, as the thread shows clearly who started. It doesn't surprise me that you aren't sharp enough.

Can you show me the link I asked for that these guys couldn't deliver?

Also, if you want to play a little game, you and anybody else can post links of the times I've been wrong, and I'll post links of all the times the same crew yelled out the cliched "Mav won't admit when he's wrong", only to be proven that THEY were wrong. You see, being WRONG does not mean being on the other side of the argument. I laugh at the times they try to use that 3rd grade argument and it's blown up in their faces. Seems to me that it's not me who can't admit that I'm wrong, and I'll challenge any of you to prove that. I can show you several links where others were too stubborn to admit they were wrong, and even used the "Mav won't ever admit when he's wrong" jargon, the sign of somebody who lost.

Raffiki likes to use that one. He even used it here.

http://worldofkj.com/forum/viewtopic.ph ... c&start=25

Of course, the results showed that I was right and he was wrong. I could produce other times where that happened. You see, just because somebody says I'm wrong or won't admit it, doesn't mean it's true. If you have an ounce of intelligence, try showing it once in awhile.

Like I said, I'll stack the number of times that people here have argued with me, REFUSING to admit they were wrong, even telling me that I was "refusing to admit I was wrong" and then they ended up being proven wrong and me right. It happens all the time. It happened again in the Departed thread, which is why the insults started flying my way. You can prove to me that the studio considers it a sequel and prove me wrong, though. I'm still waiting for that. Your declarations of teenagers handing me my ass has no credibility, especially after you were just proven to be a big liar. (your first post in that thread, before ANYBODY noticed a new member and said hello, was "Hello! First post, don't mind the newbie". )

Two things:

Maybe you should stop with the personal attacks eh? Retard, assface, and you're complaining about people jumping on your back. We're acting civilized, you're acting like a child.

and

I find it funny that you think you're the most knowledgable Oscar predictor here as you like to repeat, you say you'll gladly stack your history against anyone elses and prove you're above them, but you're clearly not! Do you really think you know more about the Oscars than xiayun or andaroo, among others? Not even close. You have made fine calls in the past fine, but you've also always had a history of letting your bias get to you and calling things as locks when they are clearly not, and also a history of continously attacking people when they dispute your "facts." You like to bring up Jarhead and King Kong, but you also have had many ridiculous statements and claims that went nowhere. Here, I'll bring some up: You said that Walk the Line was a lock and the frontrunner to win, that Joaquin Phoenix was a lock to win, you predicted Shirley McClaine and Kevin Costner to get nominated in December when they were clearly not in the race, and this year you've gone on about Bobby getting a nom and Kate Winslet winning, neither are near locks or even more than likely.

If you get your facts straight, you'll see that Lecter was the one who started with the name calling, not me. Of course, that advice wasn't offered by you to him then, but I do apologize.

My bias never gets in the way. That's why I don't make up "facts" (like you!) and back it up with hard data. Walk the Line WAS the frontrunner at that time, and I was specific when I made that statement. Other than that, that's pretty good marks to have only missed a few. Can you list all the ones I got right? (I can if you've forgotten, so let me know! : :smoke: )

Learn, young one, don't try to teach. You'll thank me for the advice some day. ;)
